12 foot python kills baby

Really?
I feel bad for the little baby who was crushed to death.
I'm not looking for a fight but I figured someone would post something like you did.

I feel bad for the snake only because its a wild animal put in captivity.

The only thing I feel for the family and anyone else who knew this piece of shit had a man eating python in the same house as children and babies is that they should be neutered, locked up in hardcore prison for a few years then have their teeth kicked upon release.

Sucks!

Why do you need a fucking python in the same house with a 2 y.o. baby??

But one would expect no less from America's step children...Floridians...

Think I'm lying....get a dose of this...one thing you don't want to be is the girlfriend who drank the last Bud before a NASCAR race of a Florida trailer park dude with a pet 'gator.

Man charged with swinging pet alligator at girlfriend during fight

PORT ORANGE, Fla. (AP) — A man hit his girlfriend with a 3-foot alligator and threw beer bottles at her during an argument in the couple's mobile home, authorities said.
David Havenner, 41, was ordered held without bond Saturday on misdemeanor charges of battery and possession of an alligator.

The alligator, which Havenner had been keeping in his bathtub, was turned over to Florida wildlife officials.

Nancy Monico, 39, told investigators that Havenner beat her with his fists, then grabbed the alligator and swung it at her as she tried to escape, sheriff's spokesman Gary Davidson said. She said the animal hit her at least once. She also told authorities that Havenner threw empty beer bottles at her, Davidson said.

Havenner's version of the story differed. He told investigators that Monico bit his hand because she was upset that they had run out of alcohol.

Agreed.

I obviously feel bad for the baby too, more so than the snake.
Its just that the snake was acting naturally, and shouldnt be kept as a pet by someone who wasnt prepared for the dangers it presented for this reason

Never argue with a fool. People might not know the difference.

Kind of reminds me of news I watched on TV a year or two back. This family has a big bastard of a snake at home. And they let it free roam the place. The reason the situation was in the news was because social services got involved. You see the cameraman filming the snake in the living room on the floor with the kids running around as normal. And one kid in particular [still in Nappy's aka Diapers] was sitting there trying to grab bits of the snakes body and pull it towards it.

You blink in that situation and all you'll see next is a snake sliding past with a baby shape lump in it's body. Anyone, no exceptions, that keeps snakes in the same house kids are in is irresponsible in the extreme.

Not once in the articles did it say it was a "wild" animal, at least I didn't see it. A very large majority of pet snakes are captive bred, not caught from the wild.

You guys are being too fucking harsh. Yeah, the guy fucked up, he should have had a better enclosure for the snake, but it's not like he did it on purpose.

A pet snake killing a person is pretty rare, you are far more likely to be killed by a pet dog, and yet familys have dogs and kids all the time and no one thinks twice. But oh noes, it's a fucking snake, call the president, start a petition to get them bannnnned.

Man a snake is a wild animal, I don't care where it was born.
It runs on instinct and cannot truly be tamed.

Having that thing in the house is no different than leaving a loaded pistol or some live grenades laying around.

And I agree about the dogs.
The only difference I see is that a dog is tameable.
but if an adult knowingly leaves a vicious or bad tempered dog around a baby I think the complete indifference should be punished, especially if a kid dies.

I'm thinking 5 years in the big house should just about do it.
and never be allowed to be near a child again.

The secret ingredient? MY BALLS
I can understand people owning small, little, controlable snakes, but why in the FUCK would you get a 12 foot python that can easily kill you? Was the pet store out of angry cougars that day? Fuck...

I hate to be so pessimistic here but, I too heard the 911 call and well, what if the parents (mom & boyfriend) put the snake in the bedroom in order to kill her? I know it sounds preposterous but I've seen to many news articles and clips about parents killing their children to not be skeptical. I mean, what it exactly where the parents doing while she was being strangled? Could they not here the poor girls gasps? It's a little sketchy to me, but then again I'm just jaded so who knows :dunno:

Anyways I feel terrible for that little girl and I hope she RIP
