If I was running an automotive racing league the only rules I would have would be for the cars to have a general volume restriction on the size of the entire car, to totally disallow any type of computerized driving aid that helps with traction and such so it's the always the driver driving it, and for it to have a certain level of safeness so it didn't hurt any other competitors or the fans watching it. (Maybe I would equalize the weight of the driver in it also.) Anything they can do within that framework to make the car go faster they would be allowed to do if they can. Other than that if the car doesn’t go fast enough then it's the people's fault that build it for not making it good enough. Plus, it's much simpler than changing the rules every year like they do in every major racing league around the world to try to make the cars the same for some reason.
