2009 World Series

Will this go down as the worst officating World Series in history? There have been numerous missed called. Like last night when Ryan Howard was called safe at home when on replay it clearly shows 2 thing.
1. He was tagged before hit got home
2. He never touched home plate.

Just wondering what everyone thinks.

Reading this makes me horny
Welcome to the 21st century. There's a tool the umps can use so they don't look like "tools". It's called instant replay, and all you would need is 1 extra official in front of a screen to ensure all close plays are reviewable and bad calls corrected. If the clown Selig resists doing it in the regular season, at least have it in effect in the post season. They're already reviewing home runs. This is just plain common sense and makes sure that umps don't have a negative impact on the outcome of an important game.

Nobody cares about baseball anymore:sleep:....it's football time.

I agree but this is a championship series and shold have the best officating in it.

Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
I don't know anyone outside of New York or Philly who gives a rats ass about the World Series this year. Sad....

But yes, the umpiring has been atrocious.

The series were promoted and referred to as the "The Championship of the United States",[4][5] "World's Championship Series", or "World's Series" for short. As baseball outside of North America was not equal to that of North America at the time, the winners of the championships were by default the best baseball team in the world

I would venture to guess that no one outside of the East Coast cares who wins this year's World Series. I haven't watched a single game of the playoffs this year, and I only keep track of who's winning by catching snippets on SportsCenter while waiting for football highlights. I hate Philly, and I definitely hate the Yankees. So I'm apathetic this year. It doesn't matter who wins because it won't be my Cubbies.

Stick with Freeones
I think I don't care any more. I want the Phillies to win because I am a Red Sox fan but here is the thing. If you did not see the Yankees winning preseason then you were living under a rock.If you spend 280,000,000 dollars in the off season and can not win The World Series you should probably leave baseball for ever.

and to the point at hand agreed it is awful officiating, and has affected both teams.

what the fuck you lookin at?

I learned something too. I always wondered why it was called the world series when its only US that plays in it. Now I know!

I'll agree with your second point. Unfortunately, Howard didn't touch home plate. Although your first point wouldn't matter because he knocked the ball out of Posada's hands.

Here's what I want to know: Will tonight's MNF game get better ratings than the World Series? At least with the NFL, you can't buy a championship as the Yankees will likely do tonight. :2 cents:
