Okay, l will agree with you that this year's Boise State team would not go through the SEC East/West without one or two losses. Same with my beloved Pac10 and your beloved Big 11.

HOWEVER...could they go through the ACC, the Big East, the Big 12...:yesyes:

So, how could Boise put a non-SEC schedule together that would appease everyone? Who should they play without having to travel 3000 miles every week?

Would it surprise you to learn that the average SEC team travels 100 miles for a game?

There ain't shit anywhere 100 miles from Boise in any direction.

I think the future of CFB really is in a no conferences thing where a committee, much like the NCAA BBall committee, decides the rankings after all the games are played. Polls during the season seem to create biases that are hard to remove....

Whoa, did I read that right? You think Boise state can go through the Big 12, but not the Pac-10?

Who in the Pac-10 should Boise be afraid of? :dunno: Boise State has already proven they can beat up on Oregon and Oregon State. So that leaves Stanford and.... Arizona? :1orglaugh

The Big-12 is clearly a lot tougher than the Pac-10 this year. :yesyes:

I think Michigan St. at 14 in the BCS this week is a bit harsh. I still think they've got an exceptional team this year...

No matter how good Iowa is, they still have 2 losses so losing to them hurt MSU pretty bad. I also have to chuckle when I see OU at #8 and Mizzou drops to #12. It just reinforces the belief that it is so much better to lose earlier in the year rather than later. That's one reason I believe that Alabama can still claw their way back into the national title picture if they beat both LSU and Auburn (huge BCS gains for these) and then take the SEC championship. BSU's chances are apparently gone (sorry t-rock but we all saw this coming). The big question is....can the TCU/Utah winner hang on to their position ahead of Alabama? :dunno:

You're totally right. I'm not sure that Alabama will beat Auburn.

I can't remember what I said 100 posts ago!
I'm a disagree with you here. I think Boise State would have just as good a chance as Alabama, Auburn, etc. at going undefeated. They are that good. And if they were in the Pac-10, I would favor them in any situation but playing in Eugene, OR. And whenever I have ever knocked them, it was cuz of their schedule, not cuz of the team. I've said all along I think Boise State and TCU are the absolute best teams in the country, just I would rank Oregon ahead of them cuz they have impressed me this year with some of their wins.

As for those 3 conferences you've listed, those conferences suck balls. Even if Va Tech were to win the ACC, that's not saying a whole lot. It's a hell of a lot harder winning the Mountain West conference than it is the ACC and Big East. I would take TCU, Utah, Air Force, San Diego State, BYU over any combination of 5 teams out of the Big East or ACC.

Since I haven't already, my top 10....

1 Oregon
2 TCU
3 Boise State
4 Auburn
5 Utah
6 Wisconsin
7 Alabama
8 Ohio State
9 Stanford
10 Oklahoma

yumi yumi yumi...this is worth a repost (sorry)..lets go through this again...they gave up 20 points on la tech....they were in the red zone 3 times and came away with nothing..they gave boise 2 scores with fumbled kick offs...now lets do the math..add 3 field goals for the 3 trips to the red zone..take away the 2 fumbled kickoffs they were given...it dont look like the same game...if you play like that on a team thats not a creampuff..you lose..and its ashame oregon couldnt have played usc when pete was running things and reggie bush was there...oregon boise my ass ..its just a matter of time

I cannot add to this. Well stated, Will.

Really cause if I remember correctly one of the worst PAC-10 Team this year UCLA beat the crap out of those Texas Lonhorns this year & Arizona beat Iowa State too! So in what way are they tougher than the PAC-10?

Not to speak on Will's behalf but if you look at the BCS standings, the Pac-10 has one team in the top 12 and the Big 12 has three so I think that's pretty much the logic behind his thinking. The Longhorns and Iowa State both suck balls but, out of the ranked teams, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Missouri and Oklahoma State would make for a stronger group than Oregon, Stanford and Arizona in my opinion....although Oregon is obviously the best of all the teams mentioned.

You mean the same UCLA team that lost to Kansas State? What about Nebraska's beatdown on Washington?

Also, you failed to mention Cal's thumping on Colorado. Are you already ashamed of the Buffs already?

:dito:

Big 12 - 5 ranked teams in the AP
Pac-10 - 3 ranked teams in the AP

I'm not trying to diss the Pac-10. I just don't see how T-Rock can put the Big-12 in the same league as the ACC and Big East. Total disrespect.

Really? A lot tougher? Texas is ripe for the taking. Mizzou might be overrated a bit. Nebraska doesn't look so tough anymore. WHO in the Big 12 frightens Boise today???? Maybe Colorado

If the "system" was fair then Boise would be listed above Oregon and TCU no matter what until Boise loses. If we're going to give Oregon a pass for the Ohio State loss in the Rose...I think Ohio State pretty much returns everybody this season except for WRs, right?...how many losses do we excuse for Oregon :dunno:

Let's have a correction too: Boise would stroll through the SEC East this season. It would be cake for them. The SEC East is about as tough as the Big Least this year. The West is tougher.

His misguided diatribe resulted from TGS (Trojan Grief Syndrome).

But not to worry, he's my bitch until Oregon loses, so I'll force him to post an apology :glugglug:

I think OU, Nebraska, Mizzou and Oklahoma State could all give Boise a run for their money (hell, they hardly beat Louisiana Tech!). I also think South Carolina would have a good chance of beating the Broncs. They never play anyone so the shame is....we'll never know.

Totally off topic but why in the fuck are you a Miami Heat fan? Same reason you like the U? Just trying to connect the dots....:dunno:

So you're telling me Boise can go through the Big-12(Oklahoma, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Missouri, Texas, and Baylor) and stay undefeated? And also beat "cupcake" teams like Texas Tech, Texas A&M, and Kansas State?

I agree that OU would be a tough matchup for Boise. Your Longhorns are down :)wave2: ucla, iowa state, baylor, maybe more :weeping:), Nebraska has QB problems, Okie State...they were exposed as paper tigers weren't they?, Mizzou...meh, we'll see. They need to win out and win big. A&M, Colorado, the Kansases...all  and easy Ws for Boise.

Utah versus TCU is a huge matchup. We ALL NEED TO WATCH THIS ONE (if we can :crying:)

I'm trying to make sense and make judgments based on a fucking stupid BCS system that is against "American values" and the ideals of higher education (fairness, equality, blah blah blah)...

RE: Miami Heat...I have come aboard the Heat this season (and maybe next too) because I think LeBron has been shitted on like nobody I've ever seen before, and what the Heat did is no different than any other pro team that has title aspirations :dunno: I explained how I view PRO teams as a collection of mercenaries and, therefore, I AM A MERCENARY FAN :thefinger (I explained all this in the NBA thread...)

Only your Sooners are "for real" in the Big 12. Everyone else...:yesyes: A win means a win, not a 60 pt blowout win.
