Looks like my White Sox are confident that they'll be able to re-sign Konerko. I don't think there is much interest in him outside of the White Sox.

the red sox should start to get some new players. they sucked bigtime last year and i dont see any improvement. just getting gonzales wont get it done.

Not Sure

Reading this makes me horny
Thirty Two year old Jayson Werth getting a 7 year $126 million contract should shake things up. Does Daniel Snyder own the Nationals too? :dunno:

When it comes to sports contracts one of the things that people need to remember is that it only takes one team to make a dumb decision for somebody to cash in more than they should.

Matt Diaz has been drawing interest from the BoSox.

i think diaz will sign with the pirates. hope bosox can sign crawford. that would be the best thing to do even with jacobys "same playing type". crawford is the biggest fish on the market right now

The Werth deal is just insane.:eek:

As a Cardinal fan, I'm a bit leery of the Lance Berkman signing. Their offense sucked last year because they expected Albert to drive in every run for them and their pitchers to throw shutouts. Their quest to get more pitching cost them too much when they picked up a retread like Jake Westbrook and they elected to give up Ryan Ludwick. They are now basically replacing Ludwick, a great bat with power, excellent fielder and a very good baserunner with a guy who is on the down side of his career, can't stay healthy, weighs too much, can't field much or run the bases anywhere near as well and they are paying him $8 million whereas Ludwick was "only" making $3.7 million.

If Berkman can regain his pre-2010 form at age 34 and hit close to .300, smack 25-30 HRs, drive in 100 runs and play a decent outfield (you thought Chris Duncan was an adventure? Wait until you get a load of Berkman in left field next year!), I'd be asking for a piss sample from him in a hurry. Bad move from my perspective. Supposedly, Mozeliak (Cardinal GM) says Berkman has lost weight and is in great shape. He had better be.

The happiest guy in the world when that piece of shit contract was signed was Albert Pujols.....Werth just made Albert Pujols price go up another 25 mil a year!

It's going to be a tough year for the Rays next season. They're losing Carlos Pena and Carl Crawford and probably more.

I honestly don't see where Berkman fits in either, since he's still in denial that he's strictly a DH at this point. St. Louis made the right deal with Ludwick though, as there was no way he was going to be a 5 WAR player again. He's shown himself to be an average fielder, thus almost all of his value is in his bat. He's league average at this point, although that's becoming increasingly valuable.

Now, as for what in the green fuck the A's are doing? I honestly think at this point the front office is actively trying to make the team worse. Non-tendering the best hitter in Cust, failing to reach a contract with Iwakrazy, and Beltre shoots us down for a second consecutive year. Bud Selig needs to get off his fucking ass and get the team a new stadium, this is fucking ridiculous. I hope somebody knocks Bill Neukom the fuck out.

I hate that Carl Crawford went to team in our division. Why couldn't he go to the Angels instead of the Red Sox.:crying:

The Red Sox are the team to beat in the AL with the additions of Gonzalez and Crawford.

I believe the answer lies in $20 million, and a contending team.
