I am 21 and I still live with my parents.
i have the strong urge to move out, but I only work part time because I am in school.
I have been debating if I should finish school and get a real job before I move out, or if I should give into my primal instinct and GO!
It would be possible for me to a house where I would only have to pay utilities (no rent), however it is over 20miles away from where I work.

Does anyone have any advice?

btw, shes miserable but she wont leave. complains all day about it.

make sure u can do it financially and bail.

If you move out, at least save enough emergency funds before you do... As a student with a p/t job in this economy, you could screw yourself BAD if you don't. I made that mistake. Even if you have roommates & other financial support, try to have at least $2K saved, $5K would be better, and anything over that would obviously be best.

just throwing this out there...roommates fucking suck, especially if you're friends with them beforehand, almost always causes issues down the road that lead to you becoming less of friends...the best roommate is one you hardly know lives with you unless you find someone rare and special who you can actually co-habitate with comfortably

Move out but get a house with a flatmate or two. Many students only have part time jobs but still have houses.

Dude, there's nothing wrong with living with your parents at 21. Don't let society pressure you into doing something you're not ready for. Instead, you should take advantage of your situation and get a degree. Once you move out into the real world you're gonna be too preoccupied trying to make ends meet to have the time and energy to go to school. Believe me, I know.

To be completely honest, school comes first. If you move out on your own now, you're going to have to start working more hours or get a second job to continue living on your own AND go to school.

Know what happens there? You end up doing badly in school and either quit or get kicked out.

Stay with your parents as long as you can for cheap rent or rent free so you can get a better paying job in the end (or that is how it's supposed to work in theory).

I have a friend in his 30ies. He have a cab but not much of an education. And he live with his parents. But he is doing ok!

So... Take your time.

No matter what you decide, SCHOOL FIRST! I would take that place that you don't have to pay rent. That sounds like a great setup. 20 miles is nothing, you need to get your freedom. Living at home can be great for awhile, but its time to head out. It has to be tough sneaking girls into your place at age 21, you need your own place where you can go wild when you want!
