That is Gold LOL
I'll see your bear in a sidecar and raise you a Chihuahua in a Dachshund powered chariot and a Belgian Malinois driving a tractor.
To start off the main question:Thanks. Just like being a Metal fan you can't be a real wrestling fan unless you are willing to make fun of wrestling.
I want to have a discussion with you about what it's like to be a wrestling fan from Germany. What did you watch growing up as a boy? Who were/are your favorite wrestlers? Go to any matches in person? What do you watch now and how do you watch it? You have something similar to WWE Network?
Ask me anything if you like.
You and me are fairly close in age. I grew up liking the NWA over WWF as I preferred the Southern wrestling-type blood and guts over the cartoony crap from New York. I liked Flair but hated Hogan. When cable TV came out here there was a station from Atlanta called WTBS. I started watching Georgia Championship Wrestling then WCW Saturday Night took it's place when Mid-Atlantic and Georgia merged. Saturday afternoon at 3:05 PM was always a big deal to me.
Right now I watch WWE, AEW, ROH, NWA, Impact, Championship Wrestling From Hollywood
To start off the main question:
I didn't grow up as a kid with wrestling, because wrestling came in 1989. The first maajor wrestling show actually started out as a niche show, named "Catch-Up" (Yeah, you go figure), and then, it has a couple of fights from those days, but it instantly got me and most of my mates hooked. I was 25, and in general very responsive to the US culture, music, movies, tv shows, etc. My older sister had been in the USA for a student exchange program.
I had no real main wrestling idol, but the most theatrical always were my most liked.
Wow! Not bad. More meat on the bones than mom for sure. Somebody pass the Hot Sauce. I'm eating half-Mexican tonight.
