"90% of the guns in Mexico come from the U.S."

"90% of the guns in Mexico come from the U.S." . . .So lets ban guns in America to save Mexico's sorry ass ? It's a grossly false statement to begin with. What about the 40mm grenade launchers and "LAWS" type rockets that the cartels are know to have, are those from America too ?
Listen and watch this autocrat in the making as he bullshits his way through the teleprompted print. Disgusting. Make no mistake ! This president is on his way to repeal the Second Amendment and is he ever bold about it !

Like others on this board, from the day that Barak O. was sworn in I retained an open mind thinking that the man wouldn't dare abuse his power.
I even scolded myself for thinking that he might !

Were else are they going to come from? I know not even close to 90% of their guns come from America. But, still.

Do Mexicans make guns, do they have time in between siestas and fiestas?

I had to say it. Ariba.

Please stop spelling his name wrong on purpose. Or, do you really not know how to spell his name, and you're simply a sloppy writer and thinker?

A Libertarian viewpoint on this issue would be that everyone has a right to own guns, there should be a free and open border where all people can pass and that all drugs should be legalized.

If we elected Ron Paul to bring a hammer and sickle to Washington to take down "contemporary America" and leave Corporate America to run amuk under "free markets" he would, of course, enact all of those things I mentioned above.

So how would a free and open border of armed people passing among the U.S. and Mexico work out for you and WillE?

Is that the direction you want to take the country right now?

I just got 500 myFreeOnes points!
I heard about this on the news and i'm not surprised. Hell most the weapons Iraq used against us were supplied by the US at some point in time. They're never gonna solve the drug war conflict.

Clinton also said Wednesday that the White House will seek an additional $80 million to help Mexico buy Blackhawk helicopters.

In recent years Russia has become one of the key arms suppliers for Latin America, Article

Over the years Israel has sold weapons-and often along with the weapons come Israeli advisers-to Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico...

In 2005, another Russian weapon deal irritated the United States: Moscow and Caracas signed an agreement that allowed for the sale to Venezuela of 100,000 Kalashnikov assault rifles and 15 Mi-17 and Mi-35 combat helicopters. A year later, speaking in Venezuela on April 3, President Hugo Chavez said he is ready to buy more Russian arms.

In addition to Venezuela, Russia sells weapons to (or is negotiating with) Columbia, Bolivia, Mexico, and Chile.

Like I said before, America does not even come close to a 90% supplier of weapons to Mexico.

I'm going to go with the other direction--that it is anti-American to run the country into the ground domestically, and it is anti-American to promote mindless warmongering and torture.

These recent American policies need to be changed. Obama and the Dems are trying to change these things, but as we know, Rome wasn't built in a day and it won't be rebuilt in a day either...:dunno:

heh or maybe our war on drugs generates the US a lot of money and so anything which might hurt the cartels would be bad for us the US afterall we did have our iran-contra cartel buddies back in the day maybe we've got some new buddies :D

These are some of the lamest, silliest posts that the slavering hatemonger UberLiberals on the board have made...and that's saying something.
I know I have come to realize there really is a synapse dysfunction where Titsrock is concerned, but others are the FreeOnes Jeanene Garafolo's.
Only 17% of captured weapons are from US of A...regular guns and such. I can get howitzers from many places in the world, why try to squeeze them past the tighter borders of the US?
Buy from Russian Mafia, Czech arms dealers; even Islamic Jihadists will sell military weapons to the cartels...
White Wing extremists are as pariah to Republicans as are the UberLiberal nutjobs like Jeanene G. and titsrock to Democrats and thoughtful Liberals.
No one wants to stand too close to the crazies who only make sense to other crazies.
Hopefully they will catch the bullets from the crazed assassins and the rest of us can continue to work this crap out.

Friday on my mind

Pain heals, chicks dig scars, Freeones lasts forever
It is absolutely undeniable that most of the guns in mexico came from the US.Its just like when you have a place like washington DC in the states that has very strict gun laws but is bordered by a state like Virginia which has much less restrictions.Thats how DC has so many guns and so many gun crimes.
The combination of the mexicans being able to get guns easily from their northern neighbor(the US) and their northern neighbor pursuing a totally failed "war on drugs" is causing chaos ,lot of violence etc in mexico.
I just saw a segemnt last night on PBS with Bill Moyers interviewing the creator of the show on HBO called "the wire" I think it is which is about the drug war and cops in baltimore. They showed many clips from the show and spoke about how the cops know the "war on drugs" is complete failure and already lost but that no politician has the guts to speak the truth to the people and say that. They also made the point that the war is really just a war on the underclass of america who predominatly are black or brown, another reason the majority in america find it easy to ignore the terrible effects the war has on these people. This is whats happening in mexico, they are paying the price for their more affluent rich northern neighbors desire for drugs and the availaibity of weapons from the north they can use to fight over the vast profits to be had.

Obama is 100 pct correct. You just misquoted him. HE SAID, "more than 90 pct. of the guns RECOVERED in Mexico come from the United States.."

The fact that firearms can be traced by serial number is a fact that makes the statement easily corroborated.

Now I don't know what he proposes to do about it just because our firearms end up in other places as we enjoy the right to keep and bear arms. But I suppose the statement is consistent with the U.S. saying something like some percentage of some contraband comes from some other country.

To the extent that part of Mexico's problems is firearms illegally making their way into Mexico and thereby causing them security problems. The question becomes how do we keep our firearms from illegally making their way to Mexico (accountability). Not how do we keep Americans from their right to them.

When you listen to a statement with a premise before you listen to the words, you sometimes miss the facts and hear what you want to hear.:2 cents:

Maybe these weapons ARE COMING THROUGH AMERICA, barak obama -

A must read

Can you imagine ? An actual conspiracy ? No !

ak 47's are not made in the states and are 100% illegal in every state.
how much more can you make something illegal?

there are already so many laws and regulations that in order to purchase a gun legally is almost impossible in most states.

if something is already illegal how can it be made more illegal? how will that decrease crime?
Obamas and the anti gun people (anti gun, not anti crime or pro punishment for crimes) ideas on control
are the equivalent of treating dandruff with decapitation.
