Ahmadinejad's problem with women

It might not be an Israeli military strike or United Nations sanctions that run Mahmoud Ahmadinejad out of power in Iran -- it might be angry women voters, feeling betrayed that he has not delivered on promises of more rights.

I'll keep my fingers crossed in hopes that this assclown will soon be out of public office.

It doesn’t really matter that much who they elect as long as the ruling clerics are the ones with the real power.

Really? It isn't about the fact that he's shot himself in the foot? And if it is the case then its the only change O'bama has made that I would support. I din't see Barry's name mentioned anywhere in the commentary.

Hmmm....Obama travels to the Middle East. Delivers speech. The populace embraces an American president, rather than throw shoes at him:1orglaugh:thefinger, and they reward this president by getting rid of one of his adversaries in one of the biggist trouble-making countries in the region?

And not a shot or plane strike was needed...:glugglug:

tits, obama's got nothing to do with it.
maybe the western worlds influence does, but thats got little to due with obama.
Did obama even have the balls to mention womens rights in his speech?

I think Obama has the balls to mention many hot-button issues. He gave a graduation address at Notre Dame and didn't duck Abortion. He has mentioned in other speeches wanting his daughters to have the same opportunities as he has....I would say he probably did mention Women's rights when he was in the Middle East.

What can I buy for 100 FreeOnes points?
I think Obama's approach to the middle east is the correct one, but I think this was going to happen regardless.

Also, the clerics still rule.

Reading this makes me horny
frankly i like someone having the nerve to open up to the middle east--and Obama did that--its a thin line and he walked it nicely almost(couldnt have seen him speaking a lot for women)
As far as Iran goes, it was never ruled by the prezs--for ages since the ouster of the king, the Clerics have the first and last word

It doesnt matter who's in office. The Ayatollah runs the country and they always will do.

The President is nothing more than a poster boy.

Yes, I bribed and cheated to get this far
Iran reminds me a lot of the old Soviet Union where the premiere, whoever it was, whether Gorbachev, Brezhnev, Krushev, whoever, they were all selected by the communist party, and since that was the only political party that's who ended up in "power". Same thing in Iran except that instead of the communist party, it's the clerics.

And Obama did not stir the waters in his visit to the MIddle East, he gave a speech praising all of Islam's accomplishments, I hope(TM) one day he gives a speech praising all of America's accomplishments with at least half the passion he showed there instead of one that puts America down and he doesn't follow it with a "America did great, HOWEVER....."

If FreeOnes was a woman, I'd marry her!
Did obama even have the balls to mention womens rights in his speech?

Yes, actually. It was the sixth of seven specific issues he addressed. From the text of his speech:

The sixth issue — the sixth issue that I want to address is women's rights.

I know, and you can tell from this audience, that there is a healthy debate about this issue. I reject the view of some in the West that a woman who chooses to cover her hair is somehow less equal. But I do believe that a woman who is denied an education is denied equality.

And it is no coincidence that countries where women are well-educated are far more likely to be prosperous.

Now let me be clear, issues of women's equality are by no means simply an issue for Islam. In Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, we've seen Muslim-majority countries elect a woman to lead.

Meanwhile, the struggle for women's equality continues in many aspects of American life and in countries around the world. I am convinced that our daughters can contribute just as much to society as our sons.

Our common prosperity will be advanced by allowing all humanity, men and women, to reach their full potential. I do not believe that women must make the same choices as men in order to be equal. And I respect those women who choose to live their lives in traditional roles. But it should be their choice.

That is why the United States will partner with any Muslim-majority country to support expanded literacy for girls and to help young women pursue employment through micro-financing that helps people live their dreams.

That really was a stark contrast, wasn't it?
