Alien vs. Predator

In honor of the new movie I figured I'd set up this poll to see who you guys think would win if these sci-fi icons went at it. Personally I cant decide.

The original Predator was one of the best sci-fi movies I've ever seen.

But, if you compare all the Alien movies against the 2 Predator movies, Alien wins hands down.

As for the battle themselves, well, correct me if I'm mistaken, but I'd take Predator, because he kicked ass on the planet Earth, and had to be taken down by Arnold, and not some woman.

What are you talking about? The Alien and the Predator franchise is not based off of a video game. Though there have been video games made of both Alien and Predator their franchise's are not rooted in video games. The Alien film was the first time the Aliens were ever seen and I think the Predator comes from a Darkhorse comic. I know that since the movies of both came out in the 80's their have been several comics made of them and I know that the idea behind Alien vs. Predator comes from several Darkhorse comics made in the 80's and 90's and there are even some still made today.

Well Paul W.S. Anderson directed and wrote Resident Evil and he's the guy that is directing and writing AVP so if he can do as well as Resident Evil hopefully AVP will be at least decent. Unfortunately he's also the guy that directed Mortal Kombat so it's still up in the air whether AVP will be good or not. I already dont like him and if he screws this movie up I will hate him forever!

The funny thing is I dont think the Predator would even be able to see the Aliens. The Predators sight is Heat Vision and anybody who saw the movie Aliens would know that the Aliens dont show up on Heat Vision. Nonetheless I would be rooting for the Predator.

I just hope this comes out better than the long awaited, which turned out to be a giant let down and terrible movie, Freddy vs Jason.

That's a good point, Brino. I was thinking that Predator would have the advantage because of the use of hand-held weapons and the ability to kill the Alien from afar. But it's hard to kill what you can't see.

The Predator has a least three different modes of 'heat' vision.
Anyone who has seen predator 2 or played aliens vs predator would know that.
