All Organic Eggs Are Equal - Scrambled Eggs

Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
Y'all need to lighten up like 'Mega said. There are a lot of threads here that do not interest me or I might not particularly care for the posting tendencies of the thread starter but, unless it is something out-of-bounds (see "Baconsalt" :1orglaugh), I encourage anyone to start a thread about any subject that interests them. If you don't want to read it, then don't. Simple really.

Personally, in my opinion, if the bad guys are trying to get to us through eggs, we're pretty much fucked. In fact, we're pretty much fucked even if they aren't. :dunno:

Oh....and Eggs Benedict are wonderful and so are pickled eggs believe it or not. Try 'em....you'll thank me later. :hatsoff:

What came first the chicken or the egg? ... we use organic eggs at the Area 51 cafeteria. .. sorry couldn't resist it

He says at the end of the video, and I'm paraphrasing: "when consumers find out that their eggs are coming from factory farms they feel betrayed."

Do they really? I find it hard to believe they do. People may dislike the conditions these animals are put under but that still isn't going to make their decision to buy the cheaper option any different. Factory farms at the end of the day are a product of the society we live in, people are eating more eggs and meat and in this pursuit they want to acquire them at what they believe to be a reasonable price; this is just the way it is. Large farms are able to produce products on a scale which keep these prices down and small family run farms aren't so in order to keep their production costs in check they have to charge more in order to cover their overheads.

If you want to change the way these farms are run, the only way you're going to be able to do that is by changing the mindset of the consumer. You really can't blame the large companies who exploit these rules (whether right or wrong) for doing just that because they're just abiding by a market that wants it.

Thank you. It's people like that trying to kill free speech with ridicule. Yeah they must have their tinfoil hats on because something magically made them click my humble little post and flip out and comment.

They are just afraid of me saying something that will make them uncomfortable like my 9/11 thread they had shut down. That's cool. Couldn't take the heat so purposely post shit to shut it down. Is talking about the food supply a little too hot for you too?

I'd like to think that if I do in fact own a tinfoil hat, it's still in the box where it belongs. I'm not at all uncomfortable with you proclaiming whatever it is you're saying, I don't like the fact that you have to post topics that when presented with an alternate view or opinion, you proclaim it as "unwilling to believe in the truth", flawed for reasons you provide but refuse to back up with sufficient credible evidence, etc. Honestly, this is a welcome change from the 9/11 thread, I just don't want to see it deteriorate from being something that could be discussed logically and politely.

Actually I'm not that keen on eggs . but though I prefer free-range or organic food, sometime it's my wallet that will make the final decision.

I'm watching some specialist videos
You do have to be careful about "organic". There is nothing to stop caged birds being fed purely on organic feed, thereby making the chicken and their eggs "organic".

All hail the FO Cult Mother!
all I know is it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the health of the US is being destroyed at a fast pace, the cases of heart disease, diabetes, obesity and many other degenerative diseases are off the charts, so obviously something is wrong, and when I look around at the so called "foods" people are eating its not hard to see why, anyone who thinks gmos, toxins and chemicals in our food is good for us needs to start researching health and nutrition all over again because like I said before something is wrong with the health of the vast majority of people in the US and in many other parts of the world

Yeah, and it's YOU that is doing it wrong! The stupid, lazy, average american(*) that is eating too much while exercising too little.

Blame food all you like but fact remains that never in human history have we ever had the opportunity to get as much good, safe and complete nutrition as we can now. And no, the food corporations are not selling bad food. Our body can handle almost anything we put into it.

But what it can not handle is to violate the most basic of laws of physics: conservation of energy. Put too much energy in your body while not spending enough to balance the equation, and that will deposit on your fat ass, your beer gut, your two extra chins and your inverted waist.

You cannot blame the corporations for you being an idiot that do not adhere to the most basic of rules for eating healthy: do not stuff your face with more than you spend.

/S

(*) Note: every western society has the same problem... not just americans. Swedes, brits, french... everyone is eating too much. No need for any offended US citizen to to feel singled out here.

I think thats oversimplifying it .. you can have the most naturally grown foods and all the rest but that won't help when it's sprayed with pesticides or the water-table is contaminated or any number of preservative chemicals are thrown in. ... Yes getting no exercise is a factor but you can be a so called health-freak and still get anything these days.

Well some people do overeat, whether it be by virtue of pure gluttonous behavior or through poor portion control but that's not the entire picture.

......blah...not gonna delve into it but it's more complicated than it seems primarily because in the US our diets are generally not as homogeneous as other places and that plays a role as well.

Very true too. For the interested...there is also evidence of diet harming chemicals, etc. that can leech into food from the containers it's stored or cooked in.

You should really cook or nuke anything in plastic containers for example.

Along with what BlueBalls said I could also point out that not only would a lot of food be dramatically more expensive, but often it wouldn't be available or practical at all if things like all chickens were free roaming for instance like people used to raise them before modern industrialization. I also neither have the amount of land, money, time, or inclination to raise animals myself to know where they come from and how they were raised.

With that said I often don't like where food comes from even if I'm forced to by some of the more unhealthy stuff due to lack of funds. In an ideal world all animals would be raised in the conditions that are natural for them and it would probably be better for us. They would probably even taste better. It’s just too bad it’s not very realistic.
