A team of researchers in the US has discovered traces of a medicinal alcoholic drink in bottles that are more than 5,000 years old.

When my grandma was in the hospital a year or so ago one of the doctors said that they could write prescriptions for beer and wine, if needed. I would say that alcohol has some medical benefits. Makes people in pain more comfortable.
