And Justice For All......

Galactic

Pain heals, chicks dig scars, Freeones lasts forever
So I am sitting here, with this album BLASTING into my head right now........and I find it very, very difficult to think of another album that fucking rocks as hard as this one does.......like them or not, Metallica fucking brought it with this one.....I believe this is one of the greatest rock albums ever produced........so........where does this one rank with you all? What are your favorite hard rock albums that you think are better? List 'em. I'm not saying this is the best one ever, but it is definitely up there....top 5 I'd say.

HARVESTER OF SORROW...........

I'm so great I'm jelous of myself.
that album was the most excellent that metallica ever produced, in my opinion. i particularly enjoy dyers eve.

Ride The Lightning rocks way harder than And Justice For All.
There is nothing wrong with the songs on Justice, but it is a crap production with no bassguitar what so ever.

ride the lightning is good but the lyrics are more simplistic (and i enjoy lyrics) and master of puppets is played out in my opinion

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
And Justice For All...had the best lyrics out of all their albums. The riffs are fuckin spectacular too. Dyers Eve. Man. One of the best metal songs ever written.

It would be my favourite Metallica album, but Ride The Lightning has Fade To Black so it wins.

persona non grata
All their three first albums are better, at least when it comes to the sound. The songs are great but the production is absolutely horrendous on ...and justice for all.

Oh, and no Metallica album is anywhere near a top ten of best rock albums ever.

CunningStunts

I changed my middle-name to Freeones
Yeah, the production and just shredding guitar riffs that make your ears want to bleed, AJFA was always my favorite Metallica album.

Red Spyder

Yes, I bribed and cheated to get this far
Anything from the black album and earlier, after the black album they don't sound the same. My favorite was Ride the Lighting though.

Looking to go where no FreeOnes member has gone before!
Justice was Metallica's last good album. Ride the Lightening is a damn goos album as well though.

i just love the trash sound from kill em' all

One condom isn't enough
It´s my favorite album too. This kind of progressive thrash they had made only in this album. The tones used fits very good to my ears! Great songs, I like all of them, but "Eye of the Beholder" is my preferred!

Never argue with a fool. People might not know the difference.
Oh, and no Metallica album is anywhere near a top ten of best rock albums ever.

Well said. Totally agree.

Really? Why not?

They came out with some unbelievable albums......who else would you say go in the top ten?

Unbelieveable albums? they just sounded like most other Thrash bands around at the time. Yes, some of the songs, they might have been better than some other thrash bands songs at the time. But it hardly classes them as unbelieveable.

And IMO Anthrax's Spreading The Disease is a better debute album than Kill 'Em All was. Spreading The Disease has brutal riffs and lightning fast solos as Thrash bands should have. Songs like A.I.R and Gung Ho and Medusa crush the riffs of Whiplash and Hit The Lights and Seek and Destroy.

And Justice For All is my favorite album of theirs and Harvester of Sorrow actually ended up being my favorite Metallica song over the years. Blackened and One are also kickass off that album. I think its one of the best metal albums ever but I don't know about hard rock overall. I'd consider alot of classic rock, grunge, and alternative hard rock as well.
Among those I'd pick:

Black Sabbath - Paranoid
Nirvana - Nevermind
Pearl Jam - Ten
Alice in Chains - Dirt
Led Zeppelin - IV

My personal favourite Metallica album is Ride The Lightning but And Justice For All.... in my opinion was their last great album. They've released some good albums since then but none of them have been great.

My favourite metal album would have to be Pantera's Vulgar Display of Power. Slayer's Reign In Blood is up there as well.
