Pussy, pussy, where are you?
I would have to go with the Spanish Inquisition, Batley townswomen’s guild’s re-enactment of the Battle of Pearl Harbour and the Funniest Joke In the World. :rofl2:

My Penis Is Dancing!
In my opinion, no other show has come even close. Yes, SNL and Kids In The Hall have made great attempts, but Python is head and shoulders above.
Trying to pick a favorite sketch is rough but, we have the Fish Dance, How to Stay Hidden, How to Confuse Your Cat, the Spam sketch, one of many of Gilliam's bizarre animations, the Village Idiot, and the Upper Class Twit of the Year.

I like the parrot one.

I want to cut down trees and wear women clothing, high heels and knickers.

I need to clean my screen!
Thank god for those guys.

Without them who knows what type of sense of humor I'd have developed as a kid.

My absolute favorite sketch is Confuse-a-Cat. Followed by I'm a Lumberjack and I'm OK and the Spam song!

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
My favorites were:
I'm here to have an argument
Spanish Inquisition
Lumberjack

But before MPFC some of them were writers on The Marty Feldman Comedy Machine a summer replacement for Jackie Gleason. That show was even funnier than MPFC!

You can't have everything! Where would you put it?!
It would be hard to see how a troupe in the modern era could have the impact that Pythons did. Comedy is a different beast partly because of the forces they unleashed.

The fact that you can still watch the stuff 40 years later is amazing. What is getting lost though is the satirical edge to some of the material. Python were not just being silly, although they were gloriously good at doing just that. The England they were lampooning was a class ridden, hidebound entity ripe for a kick up the bum. Straight up satire from that period is obviously dated beyond belief. By coming at the subject matter from a tangent the Pythons are still enjoyable even though some of the themes underlying the humour have been lost.

I'm misquoting from memory - Life Of Brian.

"Blessed are the Greeks"

"The Greeks"

"No, he said blessed are the meek"

"Oh that's nice. They never get anything."

Will you help me name my penis?
Silly walks and the argument clinic. Truly epic pieces of comedy!
