C'mon guys be civil here. Although the UN & NATO do great things...they bar the U.S.A. from doing certain actions (i.e. letting us be us). I don't see how the UN (or NATO for that fact) could ban Animal Sacrifice...too many religious cultures are at play here... the play is too risky...and would be drawn into court due to all the respective PCA (prevention of cruelty to animals)...and religous groups would see that this (if it would be come a resolution) would be shelved/ not voted on.

They should not and will not do it, because a number of religions still practice animal sacrifice, and the UN doesn't want to come off as anti-religious. Every religion has some ritual(s) that someone else thinks is stupid or barbaric. As for myself, I'd rather see them sacrifice a goat than strap on a body-bomb and walk into a crowd.

Personally, I don't think it's up to the UN, NATO, or EU to step in. Heck, right now the Netherlands wants to ban ritual slaughter (kosher or halal) and that's causing quite a stir as is.
