Yes, Anthony The Perv Weiner must go!!! :)

I just can't take it anymore!! -- Every TV channel in the New York Tri-state area keeps harping on this. I'm tired of hearing about this every ten minutes. :violent:

I am SHOCKED I tell you.....SHOCKED!!! (note sarcasm)

Personally, I have no problems with what he did initially...that's between himself and his wife. What I do have a problem with is when he was essentially caught....he lied about it first AND only when it was OBVIOUS that it wasn't going to wash....he told the truth. I also have a problem with the incredibly poor judgement he displayed straight down the line....and it has to cause one to wonder where else he used poor judgement. Granted he did not break any laws, unlike David Vitter for example, who hired prostitutes (while being one of those "family values" hypocrites), didn't have the decency to resign when caught....and the "wise" people of Louisiana just re-elected, but to fully take responsibility would seem to actually take the full punishment for "conduct unbecoming a member of Congress."

I happen to be a Democrat, but I believe our elected officials MUST be held to a higher standard than John Q. Public...they should lead by example (and that goes for both sides of the aisle). Integrity is something that all officials must have to be effective.....now he has absolutely NONE! What kind of an effective leader can he ever hope to be from here on out? His desire to stay in office is little more than a further selfish and self-serving act.

Furthermore, it spoke volumes to me that his wife was not there by his side today.....fairly telling IMHO. Politics and politicians are all about image...and his wife not being there...well, she didn't want to be there (though I'm sure he did want her by his side) pretty much sizes it up.

What ever happened to common sense? Is it REALLY dead?

He totally botched his "apology" (Tiger Woods anyone?) He needed to say he is sick and needs help. That is what a media specialist said today - he screwed himself. Now the only one who will even sit next to him in the House is that sleaze Chuck Rangle. :surprise:

With all the sleaze in politics, it really is hard to say which (left or right) takes the cake. They are both pretty bad, but I think the dems (Clinton, Edwards, Spitzer, Rangle, etc.) lead in the sleaze chategory. :2 cents:

You're forgetting the GOP gave us: Chris Lee (shirtless pics), Larry Craig (soliciting sex in the men's room), David Vitter (prostitutes), Newt Gingrich (cheating...including bj in car with one mistress...who he later cheated on when he married her...not to mention serving his one wife with divorce papers when she was in the hospital undergoing cancer treatment), John Ensign (affair with former aide...and cover-up), Mark Foley (sexually harassing male pages through social media), Mark Sanford (affair, attempted cover-up, lies, then the truth). So, yeah....even in recent history...the GOP has it's own share of sleaze too.

All those guys (pretty much) came to mind. Like I said, each side has their fair share of baggage. We could sit here all day and list the unethical and immoral creeps we have as politicians. I generally vote independent because I tend to not like either side and think they mirror eachother in policy and of course their trashy baggage. I'm far from perfect but politicians need to be held to a far higher standard than people like me.

Same here in the UK, we've had our fair share of liars, cheaters and expenses fiddlers from all 3 major parties. I actually think they all get along in private (talking about their have great salaries and how they can use their position to get away with things) and just play up for the cameras and newspapers. Centuries ago people became politians to make genuine changes to people lives and improve fairness and justice, now I think most people try to get into politics for what it can do for them rather than what they can do for others.

I agree with you there. They should be held to a much higher standard and should be leading by example. Sadly, few if any are capable of doing so anymore.

To me, sleazy behavior is sleazy behavior...regardless of what side of the aisle they sit. I'm a Democrat, and I genuinely believe Weiner should resign...though I believe he'll hang on until he is eventually squeezed out. But yeah, I'm not one who gives a free pass just because you side with their party or share in your ideological beliefs. Sadly, too many seem willing to give a free pass just because he's a Democrat and/or he's a Republican. And yes, I believe Bill Clinton is a sleaze too.

I kind of figured your side of the pond also had its fair share.

About your link - I think there is going to be a lot more to come out in this yet. :2 cents:

And he (Weiner sucker) had the arrogance to think he could get away with it; you know, he's above the rest of us working stiffs. What will be sad is if he stays and his constituents in NY vote him back in. Wouldn't really surprise me though the way Americans vote.

About the hottie that's milking this thing: anyone see a Playboy deal in the works, possibly? She definitely looks good enough and she is at the moment the biggest publicity whore in America.

Facetious

Moderated
The nerve of that Andrew Breitbart for hacking Weiner's twit acct!!!!! :cussing:

:1orglaugh

But seriously, there are no winners here, American politics gets a black eye once again.

Yeah, I'm fairly certain that her intentions in "coming forward" are less that altruistic. Single mother needs money...no easier way than the pages of Playboy. I just loved the way she was chomping away on her chewing gum in the one interview clip I saw. Classy!;)

'Stop staring at my weapon': Hilarious new details of Weiner's sordid Facebook 'affair' with blackjack dealer are revealed

* Told one woman 'Maybe Maher will let me do you on his desk.'

* Added 'We have a special secret agency that deals with hot women.'

* Single mother says Weiner called her from his congressional office

* Several saucy chats when wife was out of the country with Clinton

* At least five sexts made while he was in Capitol on official business

* Nancy Pelosi calls for ethics committee hearing

* Joked about 'punching' speaker John Boehner

* Weiner told one girl he was a 'caped crusader . . . looking for my sidekick.'

She does come off as a birdbrain. She is a nursing student, FWIW. I wonder how Breitbart (a guy I really like) came into contact with her.

The unintentional humor is almost better than the actual jokes. Last night, Bill O'Reilly said, "Weiner stood up and took a real beating!" Classic humor even if by accident.

I saw that as well. It is all over the TV. What a disasterous name to be born into. It's even worse than 'Gay' or 'Boehner.' (not by much on the latter) :1orglaugh Weiner himself has been vocal about his name being abused.

Weiner is a supreme douchebag for many reasons. The #1 being he did this stunt while married, essentially stabbing his wife in-the --back.

I think Anthony Weiner is a better public servant now than a week ago. Isn't laughter the best medicine? I love 4th Grade humor and can't get enough of it. Weiner! Wiener! Weiner! Wiener!
