I grew up on Metallica, Megadeth and Iron Maiden. Gotta say, old school Metallica is still the best metal out there. Master of Puppets is a classic.

i rather like children of bodom but their cds are hard to find around here.

don't listen to metal much anymore, but when I did I liked many of those mentioned here already, like Metallica, Megadeath, Iron Maiden, White Zombie, Pantera, Slayer, etc. Only band I haven't seen listed yet are Tool... they're still pretty cool IMO.
