Anybody ever had Skin Cellulitis ?

Marlo Manson

Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
It all started last Thursday or Friday, I would try and point my left ankle straight, and I was getting severe pain in the top of my foot like I had tendon damage or something.. so I happen to on the phone with my doctors asst. on Friday of last week and asked if I could see him in the middle of the week, so I was complacent that I'd get to the bottom of this..

Well on late Friday, the only visual abnormality on my shin was a little pink insect bite (or what I thought was some kind of insect bite, since I had not cut or scraped my leg @ all) well Saturday and Sunday my shin starts getting really red and black,DEEP, UGLY colors, like I had permanent skin damage or was starting to develop Gangrene and too top it off, it felt like somebody had just slugged me with a baseball bat whenever I was walking, standing, or sitting, if this shin of mine was vertical I was in some MAJOR fuckin pain.. :horse:

Finally Monday came and I could no longer deal with the situation, I went to an urgent care facility, and they ran some tests, determined it was skin cellulitis and the doctor gave me anti-biotic shot, along with 2 other anti-biotic pills I've had to take all week long, for those of you that don't know antibiotics are not friendly to the A$$!! very uncomfortable.. So I've had a very painful and fucked up week. @ times I was seriously contemplating cutting my fucking leg off..:brick:

It might not have been so bad, dealing with the pain, if I was told ASAP too keep my shin elevated... :wtf: because Until I went to my Primary doctor, on the Wed. AFTER going to an urgent care clinic, and another doctor, a specialist (hence, not a skin doctor) but they did offer suggestions) did I FINALLY find out that the only way to control the pain, was too keep my leg ELAVATED, as long as my shin was horizontal the pain was minimal to very little.. but FFS I hope that shit NEVER comes back once its completely gone. I wouldn't wish that shit on my worst enemy.. It still hurts quite badly even though it looks like the swelling and the color is starting to get back to normal..

Did they try to find out what actually bit you? That sounds more like a certain spider bite than a insect bite you thought it was.

I forgot to mention a spider bite, I didn't know if it could have been a spider bite, insect bite, small scrape that got infected.. :dunno:

I had to get one of those image tests like women do when there prego, to make sure I didn't have any blood-clots, that came back negative, so I really have no real legitimate theories on how this happened. the doctors said it could be MRSA. :dunno:

Marlo,
What I thought it was shouldn't be in your area. But yes that bite was something that should be still mentioned.
This is what I thought at first:

No by the looks of the wounds shown, it doesn't appear to be what I have, that spider is a MF'er huh.. I am not sure if was the same kind of spider, but I've seen and heard similar incidents concerning spider bites.. thanks, although it is still quite painful, the affected area seems to be getting better. :glugglug:

Would you hit it?
I knew someone who developed cellulitis on her face from just a mosquito bite. Just about any break in the skin can create an opening for it. It's becoming really common among athletes who get scraped up and then use shared locker rooms where staph is rampant. You can try using antibiotics on it, but if it's MRSA, all you can do is try to mitigate the damage, stay healthy, and wait for your body to fight it off.

Yes I would liken it to SEVERVE sunburn X 10 if you could imagine the pain involved..

Yeah the antibiotics seem too be working, slowly, but the coloration of my skin is getting better and the pain while still INTENSE has subsided a bit.. thanks :glugglug:

A woman is an occasional pleasure but a cigar is always a smoke.
I have never even heard of this, let alone experienced it. It sounds really bad though; you'd think the first person that you called would have known what it was (or what it could have possibly been) and been able to help you from there.

I hope it goes away quickly, so you can go back to kickin some ass.

Trust me you don't EVER want too experience it.. I have NO frickin idea how I even got this shit!! All the doctors were a big help, the 1st diagnosed and gave me RX's, the 2nd doctor I saw is a practitioner of a entirely different field of medicine, from what my leg was affected by, but still helped a bit, and they all pretty much added some good advice, I just didn't get the BEST way to remedy the pain until I saw the 3rd doctor, which was to elevate my leg, I had to make sure the area affected was horizontal @ the very least, if not raised above the level of my knee..

That's what I meant if sounded like nobody knew what they were saying or whatever... but its finally fading away, I just wish there would have been a quick easy way to relieve the pain and the burden of such a awful experience.. thanks for your concern..

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
Sorry to hear about that, Marlo. That sounds like some evil shit. I developed a wicked case of shingles when I was in school, and because it was on my face and almost went into my eye, that was scary enough - plus it was the first time I had been away from my family (nothing like being alone and sick as hell). But I don't know what this is... never heard of it before. At least the antibiotics helped you. That doesn't work with shingles and they gave me steroids... like I didn't have enough of an anger management problem as it was. Shingles runs along and on the nerves (usually on one side of your body) so I know exactly what you mean about the pain. In fact, what you're describing sounds a lot like what I had.

Whatever the docs tell you to do to avoid getting it again, I'd do it twice. Yeah, some pain is so bad you can't even describe it to other people. Glad you're feeling better though.

I've heard of shingles and by the sounds of it I don't want anymore unbearable painful experiences.. I've already had several in my life.. this Skin Shit ranks in the top 5 of pain encountered.. Sorry to hear about your ordeal and I am glad you got through it.. I know it must have been a traumatizing experience, and yeah your right, sometimes trying to describe the pain felt from these things is impossible for allot of people to even fathom.. :dunno: and thanks for your concern my friend. :glugglug:
