i dont dig mecha-anime. and there's a lot of crappy anime, but, in general, i like it.

right now im watching trinity blood. its... so-so. not so great but im hoping it improves.

hell girl was ok but repetitive. cowboy bebop was one of my favourites before it got all super popular.

and im currently wrapping up dbz.

I like certain anime. I used to watch Black Lagoon, Cowboy Bebop, Battle Angel-Alita, Evangelion to name a few. They seem to start out alright but then weird out.

Yeah, the stories are pretty lame, but some of the parodies and send-ups aren't bad.

My personal favorite xxxHolic (not a porn, not even nudity). Not your typical anime as far as mech and fan service. Very interesting characters and plots; the manga was great too though the ending wasn't as good as it should have been.

Witchblade is a little heavy on fan service but as it goes on the characters got more interesting imo.

If you wanna watch a horrible anime try Shigurui: Death Frenzy. Literally the worst I've seen.

I also found the first 4 episodes of Gungslinger Girl to be horrible but I've heard good things still /shrug need to summon the strength to try it again.

As far as Ghost in the Shell: SAC goes and its' popularity. I understand where you're coming from but I just love the action and the characters (what little they are built apon) I also love the Tachkoma.
