make people pay for something they already paid for... like when they had to pay to enable wireless-n on their apple laptops, but the chip was already in there, and they already paid for the (overpriced) laptop...

people that still buy their products are mentally challenged or simply know nothing about computers. i'm sorry if i hurt someone's feelings there, but seriously... if you bought a car and they told you six months later to pay again if you want the windshield wipers to work, would you buy from them again?

Apple is a company that does nothing but market completely useless bullshit to trendy idiots. So, what can you really expect? iPods are a cool idea, but they didn't invent that technology or even master it. In fact, there are tons of other MP3 players that are much, much better and much, much cheaper than the iPod, but through brilliant marketing, Apple has made people believe that the iPod is the original and the very best MP3, even though it's a total ripoff of technology that was originally created by it's competitors.

I think part of Apple's success over the years wasn't the fact their stuff was that great so much as they presented themselves as being better than Microsoft. Of course that's not that hard. Then there is the trendy aspect that was brought up before where people buy it just to look cool to their technologically novice friends.

If you mean Macs are products that are intuitive, easy to use, and reliable, yes macs blow cock.

Macs have many limitations but for the average computer user that is just looking for email, internet, and word processing, the Apple products are super reliable and super easy to use. That's why I have a Macbook and love it. In 1.5 years is has never froze or failed. My PC would fail daily.

I wouldn't call their products useless or crap since I don't own anythign apple myself (I have a Zune mp3 player and a Vaio laptop lol).

I do have to give them props for their marketing though, they know how to market things and how to makes things look trendy. They also are the master of hype, anybody say Iphone? Their products all look slick, fromt the packaging they are in to the product itself.
Their products sell themselfs mostly on the looks of it.

It is all very well thought out and thats what I respect them for the most
