Are Doctor Follow Ups Free?

Just a follow up. Basic internet research reveals doctor/insurance scams. If you think it is normal to pay full price for a follow up here is what your doctors office is doing.

-Upcoding: Charging for a more complex service than was performed. This usually involves billing for longer or more complex office visits (for example, charging for a comprehensive visit when the patient was seen only briefly), but it also can involve charging for a more complex procedure than was performed or for more expensive equipment than was delivered.

Regarding your question about the US health system, I can't tell.

Here in Germany, it's like this:

You HAVE to be insured. You can choose between a number of

a ) private insurances, where you pay in advance, and get your money back afterwards, but pay monthly to cover these payments (Usually rather high payments, but doctors go an extra mile regarding service for these customers)

b ) normal insurances, they pretty much all cost the same in monthly payments. If you visit a doctor first time in a quarter, you pay 10 Euros once, after that, all is covered. Of course, if you get a receipt for medicine, that costs 5 Euros every time at the pharmacy

I like my socialised healthcare, because imagine how much I would have to pay through the year, being both an epileptic and having diabetes :2 cents:
