Its reading up on the sad stories of those being affected by the economy downturn that makes me thankful I own my own business. I mean, I feel the effect of the shitty economy as a camgirl, but at the end of the day, I still have a job. Sorry to all those who've lost jobs :/

How about the photography job? Do you think couples are spending less on wedding photography and figuring out ways to DIY? Or do you think that's stayed about the same?

What does oi mean?

don't you hate when you apply for a job, they need help and you are ready willing and able to start immediatlely but some human resource cunt is collecting like 100+ applications just to show cause for her almost uselesss job?

I found this out in my younger and more vulnerable years.
It insults my intelligence......makes me very angry.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The thing is, this guy actually said he was going to give me a serious chance at the job but I got too pissed off to take it. When I met the guy at my school, he said he was looking for people to "work the phones," presumably for a standard paycheck. Then I get to the interview and suddently he intends for me to go door-to-door. He kept telling me I was too quiet and reserved but he said I had the right look and the right attitude. I realized the whole deal would just be a distraction from school and a total waste of time so I decided to cancel it. Maybe I will get a summer job....IDK. Depends if I can find one that isn't shady and phony as hell.

I have a great job but when someone retires they just don't fill that spot but at some ponit they will have to beacause where i work will never close.

I don't have a job in that I have a steady stream of income from a reliable company. I've been scraping buy by doing odd job things for meager amounts of money, and, while I'm ashamed to admit it, the generosity of family members doing slightly better than me for years now. There just isn't any work. I can't get something that's impossible to find, and I'm in a situation where it's also pretty much impossible for me to move. No matter how hard I'm willing to work the gaps in my employment history make it just that much more difficult for me to get hired for the few jobs that pop up while competing against hundreds if not thousands of others for a single spot.

I'm partially unemployed. Stagehanding is technically considered a part time seasonal job, though neither is necessarily true. We do have busy periods and slow periods, but there's usually SOMETHING going on. The problem is that we never know when we'll be busy. Even if the office says that it's pretty dead you can get lucky and end up on a 3-month full time gig. We typically work a few days and don't work a few more. Ever since the recession started the industry has taken a nose dive, and it's really sucked. This year has been pretty decent so far, though.
