Arealous is requesting a review on Assassins Creed

While this game intrigues me very much, I have heard that the gameplay becomes repetitive after the first hour. If there is someone on these forums who is currently through more than a few hours of the game, I ask you to post your opinions here. I've anticipated this game quite some time, but money is tight and console games cost alot.

I haven't played it yet, but a couple of my friends have said exactly the same thing as most of the reviews. It's a great game, but it gets repetative. And the whole thing about it being "open ended" is a bit of a lie, you have some freedom of choice, but at the end of the day you still have to do what the game wants you to do.

Sounds to me like it's definately one to rent, and not to buy.

I've played it a few hours testing it, and it was indeed a really good game. But if you're used to the top notch games like Half-Life 2, Bioshock or Metroid Prime series, you'll notice a clear difference. It's more repetitive.

So, go ahead and try it because it's a good game, but if you're tight on money and haven't picked up other first class games already - spend it on a better game. My :2 cents:

I thought bioshock was pretty damn repetitive. I've not played half life to or the metroid thing. Maybe bioshock just got boring after a few hours. Well I guess I'll have to rent this game next weekend and check it out!

I think I'm going to have to at least rent this one. Looks gorgeous, but not sure I want to drop another $60 for something with little to no replay value and no online component.

Rent this FIRST.. I made the mistake of buying it and beating it in one day. It it pretty repetitive but there is quite a bit of open endedness. But considering how I already beat it Im gonna try to hurry and sell it and try to get 60 bucks back.

^^^you'll get 30 if your lucky. I need to sell halo 3 after just a week I was bored with it. The campaign is bullshit and the online is ridiculous when your getting pwned by fuckin 12 year olds. So I've not even played it but once since I got GHIII. Damn I can't wait for GTAIV at least I know that won't be a waste of money!

I'm more than excited for GTA IV. Has the potential to be the best game ever I think.

That certainly is the best part about this game--running on rooftops. I love being able to do that and then assassinate guards with the knife. I thought the game would have been better if there were more of that "actual assassination" rather than the extremely repetitive and boring sword fights. The rescuing of peasants gets old so quickly. The upgrading of skills is nearly pointless. Just a dissapointing game to me.

But this reminds me of a question I was wanting to ask about this game. For those of you familiar with the plot, the idea of "DNA memory" seems interesting. Basically, this says that "instinct" is a product of evolution via "DNA memory." Our ancestors learned things and this "learning" was passed onto offspring by virtue of our DNA. The idea says that our genes don't just pass along the code for our bodies but code for what our bodies learned. It is an interesting thought. Do you guys think this is possible? Do you think instinct exists because of this? If evolution is true, then wouldn't it need some explanation for instinct? How does an animal "just know" things like it does through instinct unless this DNA memory thing is true.

I think the place to look for game reviews is metacritic because they have a bunch of different ones and they make an average out of it .

If you decide to buy this game, you may want to do some looking around first before paying the $60.00. I seen it at Target once for $38.00 on sale. I just now seen it at Toys R Us for $40.00 I think. Way better then paying $60.00.

yea scratch that. i have some kinda glitch it gives me 2 guys on the final mission then when i walk i fall through the ground of the game and float endlessly for about 30-40 seconds.
Fuck this repetitive piece of shit

I found Assassin's Creed incredibly boring after a while. It's just so.....bland and uninspiring.

Jumping in the hay from the top of buildings is alright though.
