Australians need more seasons

An Australian scientist says the continent needs five or six seasons to suit its climate.

I read the article but what difference would it really make I mean I'm not from Australia or I have never been,but why more seasons I herad the coast on the Pacific side id beautiful and that is where most of the cities are the middle is desert and then another coast line what is the reason:dunno:
