I had always thought The Teens were gay. But now that I'm gay myself, I love them from the bottom of my bottom (thank you, Stan! :lovecoupl !)

Rush. Used to hate them, especially Geddy Lee's voice. Ironically, I now love them because of Geddy's voice. Also, having the most legendary drummer in the world doesn't hurt either.

I saw them live in the concert hall of the Schloss in Kiel here. It was my first experience of the boyband-phenomenon.

But really, when they performed 'One, two, three, four, red light', Robbie, the skinny singer got a 80-ccm-motorbike on stage and kept rolling back and forth with it - motor off, of course.

And the chicks loved it ^^

Man, that told me why peopke like Justin Bieber or Aaaron Carter get laid :dunno:

persona non grata
Abba.

Ace Bandage

The one and only.
Motion City Soundtrack annoyed the hell out of me at first. But over time (and being forced to listen to them ), the band has grown on me a little. I turned the corner when I heard Calling All Cops. I wouldn't say that I'm a huge fan, but I can tolerate them now.

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
Metallica. When I was in school, they were just releasing their first couple of albums, and I hated that heavy music, I was into Pink Floyd, and Genesis...which I still very much am, but now I can also appreciate a wider variety of music, and have come to really dig them. In fact, I would say, the first interlude solo in Master Of Puppets, is one of my favorite guitar solos, and one of the most melodic riffs I've ever heard.

I'm so great I'm jelous of myself.
I saw Metallica open for Ozzy Osbourne In 1986 or so not knowing who they were, and I hated them. When ..And Justice For All came out I started listening to them. Now they are among my favorite bands.

None that I can think of...

But there are plenty of examples of the reverse that come to mind... bands I used to like, and then they got successful, lost their creative edge, and got shitty and/or sold out; hence, now I can't stand them.

AFK..being taken to the vet to get neutered.
First time round I was pretty mush an all-out hater of most of the big 80s pop and indie bands and acts ... but now, in my approaching dotage, I find myself quite enjoying most of what i hates, but having lost no enthusiasm or love for my music of choice back then.

If I had to pick one - The Smiths

Very valid point for those of us that grew up in the 80s... I was having this conversation with a friend the other day and we thought at least the music back then was "creative", as opposed to now, where every genre all sounds the same. :2 cents:
