When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.
Excellent discussion...some great drummers mentioned for sure.

i saw a documentary on The Who once and Pete Townsend once thought to himself that Keith Moon kept pretty good time throughout a song...so he tested it once, and put a metronome up against one of their longer live songs, and Keith didn't miss a beat in time...once.

Amazing.

Love comes and goes but FreeOnes is forever.
Soundgarden, Temple Of The Dog, Hater, Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron.
He's been consistently inventive in his style, making it all his own, an active writing member musically and lyrically, a good one too.

Also, Eric Singer. He was in Black Sabbath during the nowhere days but he's now the guy in the cat makeup for KISS but had been with them during non-makeup times and also drums for Alice Cooper either on records or tours.
Whatever he plays he always adds his touch and you can tell and it's a great groove. He's a pro 100% and in his mid forties his game is better than ever.

Like him or not Tommy Lee is still a great drummer and owned the 80's hard/rock style.
I still like his drumming style.

:2 cents: :2 cents: :2 cents:

Thanks.

It's good to be the king...
Voted "other" - Rock 'n Roll isn't my forte, but I still remember Keith Moon (ok he might not be the best, but he had a helluva - if brief - life)......

If I had a my Freeones account, I would have just gotten 25 points!
There were many excellent Drummers in the past and there are also many excellent Drummers in the Presence. So no one can say this was/is the best.
But i can fill the list with...
Mick Tucker (Sweet) R.I.P :hatsoff:
Budgie (Siouxsie & the Banshees / Creatures) :hatsoff:

I've seen your sister naked
keith moon his timing is perfect.
Neil Pearts style is larger than life, when you listen to Rush, the drum parts are very well thought out, they match the song perfectly, his Jazz influence shows through in his spontanious outbursts, truely a great musician.
Lars is a great athletic player, he plays long and he plays hard, but he makes it look easy.
Hats off to Ginger Baker too, he was and still is a 'Powerhouse Drummer'
