Best Special Forces Units?

US Navy SEALS (but I'm biased) DEVGRU. "Special Forces" is actually the formal for US Army "Green Berets"....the collective of special warfare operators are generally referred to as SO.

SF or Special Forces is actually the US Army. In the US they all go by Special Operators or SO. I have worked with the 10th SF Group and Navy SEALs snipers and both are professional and respected us normal average Grunts. They all have thier good and bad to say one is better than the other is insane.

To be truthful the more you find out about them the more you realize that pretty much all the elite units throughout the world are overrated.

what the fuck you lookin at?
That's a big list. Here's the thing:

Just because it has special in it doesn't mean it is. We all don't look at the Special Olympics as being elite sportsmen, do we?

Stick with the best: SEALs, USMC Recon, SAS, Israel, GSG-9, and Spetsnaz. Along with a couple others. ;)

I watched a show on what the SEAL's boot camp. You've gotta be a bad ass motherfucker just to make it through that shit!

If nothing else the fact that they make you lie down in freezing water all the time! They also use it as punishment for the whole team if one person fucks up.

How far do you blow your load?
Navy Seals, SAS, and I would go back to the snipers in Stalingrad during WW2.

Most other countries special operations units are trained by US or British units anyway. Do you really think they teach them everything they know/do?

Of course, my true favorites were the Gurkhas, especially during WW2.
They have many exploits, one should read up on them.

Here's one set of stories:

I did I was just adding some more info to your post. I was not counter pointing you at all.

Didn't know if you realized you were reiterating my post or not.

No matter how well trained you are, a special operator is still made of flesh and blood...If that's what you mean, I agree.

I believe the extreme level of dedication, precision and support technology of our US special forces has been nullified by the current political administration.

In what way specifically?
the delta force.

"D Boys" are an honest answer.

Most people don't realized different units have different missions. "D Boys", DEVGRU (formerly Six) and SF A Teams are the most adept in terms of military units from my experience.

Nullified? How so? What negatives do you see now, that were positives before?

Anyway, just based on what I've seen and read over the years, I'd go with the SEALs. The recent mission against the Somali pirates (from a rolling deck to a rolling boat, 3 shots, 3 kills?!) just reinforces that feeling within me.

"Major Muslim Hasan's Imam Reported Killed: Will Obama Bring Drone Up on Charges?"
(probably...:D)

Ms Shortz is undoubtedly referring to the Dem UberLeftie White House, where they still hate the military and want to be loved by Europe and all of Islam.
I can see where a dedicated member of the Teams, or any CIA operative, might feel a bit unsure how to proceed in some situation, not wanting to die or be castigated later by the US AG or the JAG guys...when is the Courts Martial of the SEALs who hurt Mr. Terrorist?
Anyone remember the old Bogie movie "To Have and Have Not"? He told the nasty fat guy that he was gonna tell the other bad guys to let them leave the port, now or after a lot of painful gun-whupping...and it was a shame one of the 2 guys would have to get all that pain for nothing , as one of the bad guys would surely do the deed and end his pistol-whupping.
Like waterboarding, only simpler and more direct.
No more of that stuff, now we gotta ask nicely...

Obama nor his Justice Dept. haven't, nor would they be bringing charges against military service members. And they certainly don't effect the day to day operations. Pretty ignorant rant IMO...:dunno:

Factually, the last administration did more to "nullify" the effectiveness of SO than any in history by centralizing operational control out of McDill. DUMB!!!

SO HATED Dumbsfeld for that.

I always liked the Army Rangers as well, since my dad was in the Army. I saw a doc. on Military channel called something like Best Army Ranger or something like that. Although they don't go through probably as much as SEALS and GB's, I like their unit style and the pretty harsh training they go through - gotta respect it.
