Best torture scene?

Warning! Spoilers may be posted.

I was watching Prison Break tonight and the torture scene made me squirm a bit. Mahone had Wyatt at his mercy and was jamming needles into his fingertips. When Wyatt was ready to go unconscious from the pain, Mahone would give him a jolt with a defribillator and repeat the process. Yikes.

Unfortunately I couldn't find a clip of the scene, but feel free to post your favourites!!

A woman is an occasional pleasure but a cigar is always a smoke.
I think Hostel 2 has some pretty erotic and vicious torture scenes.

Lol, I thought the second one had the better\more sexualized nature to its torture scenes.

Kathy Bates has a nude scene in "About Schmidt".....now that's what I call TORTURE....for anyone watching it anyway!!!!!!! Wait, I guess technically that would actually be a candidate for WORST torture scene! Ha ha ha!

But seriously, I'm just an old softie...not really into torture....even simulated. I'm too caring and sensitive I guess. Ha ha ha! :anonymous

Yes Marathon Man!!

Two others...

Though it fails in comparison... Tying Ned Beatty up to the tree in Deliverance for the toothless mountain man.

Speaking of Kathy Bates... Misery with James Caan. The scene with the sledgehammer.

what the fuck you lookin at?
Unthinkable had some decent torture.

But Hostile the first one was pretty gruesome when she cut off that dudes dick with the wire cutters.

Don't really get into that shock type stuff that is so chic in movies now. I don't like those Saw or Hostel type movies.

I would say any of the stuff in Se7en, but I don't know if that counts. I couldn't sleep for a few days after watching that movie back when it came out.

'Deer Hunter' Russian Roulette at the beginning would be another suggestion. That was actually an intensely good scene, or when Bunny in Platoon splatters that Vietnamese's brains with his shotgun.

There is a movie called Thief were a guy attempts to steal this businessman's Porsche. The guy has his Porsche rigged so the car cannot unlock from the outside. At one point he cuts the thief's fingers with bolt cutters.

Also for comedic twists-The Vincent Price Dr. Phibes movies.

persona non grata
The french fries up the nose torture in A Fish Called Wanda...and for something seriously fucked up, the razorblade scene in The New York Ripper.

That was Hostel 2. Japanese film Audition (1999) had a pretty grusome torture scene at the end where a woman is cutting off a mans foot slowly using a wire saw. According to wikipedia people had to be taken to hospital whilst watching the movie and directors including Eli Roth, John Landis and Rob Zombie have all said they found the film very difficult to watch. Apparently the My Chemical Romance music video "Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough for the Two of Us", first shown in 2002, was based on Audition.

Also that scene in Inglourious Basterds where Bear Jew beats that German sargeant to death with a baseball bat was hard to watch

Finally the scene in The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover where the lover is suffucated to death by having paper stuffed down his throat whilst everyone around him is talking normally, maybe because I was young when I watched it but that whole film was hard to watch

I've seen some pretty fucked stuff in Korean revenge flicks... Most notably, and recently... I Saw The Devil.

There are some pretty gruesome movie concepts out there...my favorite scene where there was a point to putting someone through an excruciating circumstance was from 'Taken'..

When he shocks "Marko"...funny thing is I saw the movie on the internet months before it came out. In that version, he actually pounds 2 - 9 in. nails in the both of the guy's thighs and hooks the batter cables up to him that way...the later version he hooked the cables up to the chair..(I guess the kinder, gentler version:facepalm:)..

Anyone else see the first version?
