Birch Beer?

I never had it before tonight, some chick I know raves about how great it is so I decided to try one.
I just had one and it tastes like fucking Root Beer to me!?

Birch Beer definitely has a distinctly different taste than Root Beer does. As the ingredients are somewhat similar in nature, the taste might be slightly similar, but nowhere near alike. Birch Beer is usually red in color and Root Beer is the color of cola. However, though I have had both, I don't really care for either one....so what do I know!:dunno:

I could be wrong in this, but I don't think I am. Birch beer is the precursor to root beer. Like the pomade in "O Brother, where Art Though" is a precursor to hair gel.

I suppose I could wiki it but fuck it. I'm not that interested and there's boobies to look at.

Nope, Birch Beer is not an alcoholic beverage! Ha ha ha! It's an early soft drink made from herbal extracts, usually from birch bark. Thus, it is similar to Root Beer and Sarsaparilla in type and taste. For the record, I don't really care for all three.

i know ive had it but i dont recall.

a weird beer that is a bit of a trip that keeps coming to mind is newcastle though. its so lowly carbonated that it goes down easier than water. easy flavour but id have me a guinness or a even a fosters over newcastle any day. fun to try though.

Here you go. In my area the major company for Birch Beer is Pennsylvania Dutch.Matter of fact I didn't know the exact difference between the 3.

Stewart's makes some excellent root beer (among other things). Birch beer ain't bad either, it is similar but has a distinct minty flavor.
