Black in Wrestling

Conspiracy...
Black in Wrestling

My father and I recently had a surprisingly good debate recently about black wrestler. My father, a black man himself, asked me when was the last time a black wrestler in the WWE main evented a PPV or better yet Wrestlemania, like a REAL main event; the final match.

I sat there for 10 minutes to think, and then I went to the internet: The Rock was the last black wrestler to main event Wrestlemania in 2001.

The last WWE PPV in which a black athlete was in the last match of the night: Mark Henry, Unforgiven, 2007; counting TNA: Brother Devon, Against All Odds, 2009(in a 4 Corners match; last one on one: Booker T, Hard Justice, 2008)

Let's delve a little into WWE and TNA and see what both companies do with their black athletes, male and female.

It's true. Why is Vince such a racist?

FreeOnes makes me moist!
the fans dictate who's popular in wrestling. Vince couldn't give a shit who's headlining a main event as long as he's making money.

The Rock was an excellent character and because of that, was over with the fans. Booker T, on the other hand, was never that popular with fans and because of that, he never reached the status of The Rock.

really ...it's the fans that dictate what happens in wrestling. blame them.

But, Vince pushes people that he wants to, look at Cena.

Vince said he makes people like what he wants them to.

Vince's ego

I think it was more RVD talking about Vince's Ego. The people dictate who is popular in the WWE and other brands. Why would he push someone who is not popular with the fans and thus lose out on all the merch money? The days of the Kliq type groups holding the power is long over, the fans are the powerful ones.

The secret ingredient? MY BALLS
The fact that the author of this article says that The Rock is black makes anything else that he has to say about the WWE and Vince McMahon's so-called racism completely uncredible.

But, just to answer the question as to why there aren't so many black superstars that headline Wrestlemania (or even other PPVs)...

There are waaaaay more white people that are trying to become professional wrestlers, therefore, a much, much, much bigger pool of white talent to pick from when compared to the pool of black talent - which leads to a smaller amount of talented black wrestlers - which leads to a smaller amount of black professionals - which leads to a smaller chance for a black wrestler to earn a roster spot on a major show - which leads to a smaller chance for a black wrestler to become a super star on a major show - which leads to a smaller chance for a black wrestler to headline a PPV for a major show.

But, no...Vince McMahon is ooooobviously a racist.

~~whimsy~~

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
I thought the Rock was Hawaiian?

I can set my own custom title!
Yes, half and half. :yinyang:

Vince has to put the title on a true black man soon.

Which black wrestler can he put the belt on though?

Mark Henry is decent at what he does but is not ready to be the face of the company.

MVP is a good mid-carder but no better than that.

Kofi is getting a push just now and hopefully he gets to the level where he can be the top dog in the company, but he is not there yet.

R-Truth is no better than a mid-carder.

Cryme Tyme are nothing special.

yes yes yes

You can't have everything! Where would you put it?!
isn't this thread in the wrong section?

:yesyes: :yesyes: :yesyes:

This is all a bunch of crap. Right now in WWE, Kofi Kingston is getting the push of a lifetime, and he has Ghanian roots.
It's just plain silly to make insinuations about Vince McMahon when its no secret that Martin Luthor King Jr. is his hero (look it up). I can't think of any racists with black idols!!
