Boise State athletic director Gene Bleymaier is all but begging for a major opponent – any major opponent – to play his Broncos, particularly in 2011. He can hardly get his calls returned. Not by the SEC. Not by the Big Ten. Not by anyone.

Bleymaier is making a nearly unheard of offer in college football scheduling – Boise will bring its popular, high-profile, top-10 team to any stadium in any town to play any big name team in America in 2011. And they don’t have to return the date in Idaho.

So far, no one has bit.

Pathetic this school is 44-4 in 4 years and can't get a BCS game to save their life becasue they are in the WAC.

Nice tits, mind if I feel them?
They need to try harder. Oklahoma regularly plays teams like TCU and BYU. I'm pretty sure if they ask us we'll gladly accept.

Payback will be a bitch! :thefinger

Boise has to go "rogue" leave the WAC in football and become an Indie...that way they can schedule who they want when they want every year and not have to split Bowl revenue with anyone...:thefinger

Hell, if Boise went rogue they would actually HELP teams' strength of schedule...

How far do you blow your load?
FSU had to play the road game to get on the football map.
Michigan, ND, no-one wanted to do a home and home back in the 70's and 80's.

So Bobby took it to the road.
It took a few years to start getting opponents and respect.

BSU just has to do the same. Keep challenging, keep asking.
BTW, only a few SEC Schools actually play OOC teams with any substance. Tennessee, Georgia are just a few that do. UF refuses to play an OOC outside of the state of Florida. So don't expect them.

I think even if they don't go rogue they are helping. Also might be why schools are scared to play them. Look what they did to Oregon.

Pussy, pussy, where are you?
Personally, I think it's all a bunch of smoke. It's easy to challenge a lot of teams who will never accept. Like the other posts have said, nobody's going to take them seriously or consider them legitimate contenders if they don't quit creaming WAC teams and find some real competition.

How can they find real competition if no one wants to play them, they have gone 44-4 in the last 4 seasons. I honestly think schools are scared of them. The Big 12 and big 10 are close but neither conferances want to challenge them.

The one and only.
I hate Boise. I dislike them, TCU, and any other team that doesn't play in a BCS conference. I root for them to lose every week because they don't deserve to be playing in a major bowl or (God help us) the national championship game. If they want to play in BCS games, then join a BCS conference. Take any Big 10, SEC, or Big 12 team and throw them into the WAC and they'd be undefeated every damn year as well. They aren't special.

The past couple of years Boise State has been probably been screwed over more than any other team because he have these stupid archaic bowls where we vote for a champion instead of a playoff system. Not that they would have won, but to have a system where teams like that are never even given a chance is absurd. I root for them for that reason and because they probably are a better team than people give them credit for. I also like them because at some level they have to have a good program insofar that they are probably good at developing players and coaching. It's not like they're Florida, USC, or a lot of the other teams universities in the nation that can just continually and automatically recruit the best players and win almost for no other reason than that. At some level I have to respect that, and if we had more teams like Boise State maybe it would encourage people to have the BCS and the bowls finally die the painful death they deserve.

Except for rare exceptions the big BCS schools have their schedules set almost a decade in advance.

I should post more!
If they want to play in BCS games, then join a BCS conference.

It ain't that easy, it's not like they can go to the PAC-10 and say hey guys I want to join your conference and they are automatically accepted. The conferences and their respective schools get to decide who can join their conference.

A couple of years ago Boise State played Georgia at Georgia without a return game (Georgia spanked them, but they went on the road to play them), so they have proven they will take a team up on the offer. The question is do any of the power schools have the balls to face them or would prefer to keep playing Charleston Southern (Florida) or Chatanooga (Alabama).

Boise has to go "rogue" leave the WAC in football and become an Indie...that way they can schedule who they want when they want every year and not have to split Bowl revenue with anyone...

Leaving the WAC would be the worst thing Boise State could do, with out a conference it's not like the Alabama's, Florida's of the world are suddenly going to want to schedule a game with them. In addition, they would have no bowl tie-in.

College football is all about money these days, being an independent works for Notre Dame because they have the NBC contract, without that NBC contract they would be begging to join the Big East or the Big Ten.

If these BCS schools are so tough, they should have no problems doing a home and home with the Boise State, BYU, and TCU's of the world.

True, that's why Im still proud to be a Seminole Fan (even though we have 0 defense this year).

We still go play BYU, even have a home and home scheduled with Oklahoma.
2010 we have BYU in Tallahassee, and goto Oklahoma the following week.
2011 we goto Air Force, and then have Oklahoma @ Tallahassee.
2012 we have West Virginia, Air Force @ Tallahassee, and goto USF.

This is while playing Florida every year.

Get some balls teams......

That's the problem, they don't have any balls. These powerhouses rather play Troy State and Chattogga than actually challenge their program.

BSU's OOC schedule Oregon, UC Davis, Bowling Green, Miami-OH, Tulsa

Flordia OCC schedule Charleston Southern, Troy, FIU and FSU

Alabama's OCC VT, FIU, North Texas and Chattanogga.
