Broadband speeds in the US are slower than in almost every other country

Yeah, because the Chinese have all of the access to western content that their hearts desire and the state encourages surfing for it.

I can’t imagine why 200 million people in the U.S. using the internet would bog down the speeds surfing for anything that pops into their minds.

It’s still as efficient as pre-net neutrality levels, which I am sure is the lame point that you are trying to make.

No, reread my post above and the article.

It's about how slow US broadband is because of corrupt corporate monopolies, it has nothing to do with China.

I didn’t say it had anything to do with China, I simply pointed out that if they are being used as a comparison, then of course their bandwidth use and speeds are less. They aren’t allowed the freedom of the internet as we are allowed here.

agreed. there's no excuse for this.

nor is there one for google fiber not being in Seattle. I was pinning my hopes on severing comcast forever on that.

Conspiracy...
We can't forget search engines manipulating search results and algorithms.

Purposely manipulating results for certain sites and for so-called "racism" and so forth.

Also, companies refusing service for certain content for no other purpose than political[/I ] reasons.

When it's really because they are anti-America and anti-freedom of speech.

Bandwidth throttling is a purposeful slowing of available bandwidth.

In other words, and in general, it's an intentional lowering of the "speed" that's typically available over an internet connection.

Bandwidth throttling can happen at various places between your device (like your computer or smartphone) and the website or service that you're using over the internet.

Bandwidth throttling or capping is used to get more customers using less bandwidth.
My first broadband account was supposed to be 10mbits speed but I was only getting about 6mbits.
I called my ISP and they said it was because my phone lines were old and I was far from their "server".
When the contract ended I cancelled the service and switched to another ISP, as soon as I did my speed went up to 10mbits and I was paying less with the new ISP.

This subject has been brought up before. From what I remember, internet in Europe costs much less than in USA. Why is this?
