What a joke. But a 2.4 Trillion debt while under his control won't hurt anything.

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - President Bush worked to reassure Americans on Monday about the economy but said "there's definitely some storm clouds and concern" because of the nation's credit crunch and mortgage problems.

Thanks, maybe someone realized he put his foot in his mouth again and took it down.

Radio talk show guy slams local political figures for less than what Bush does / doesn't do, and he can't seem to get it, he still suggests there was cause to believe in WMD, as long as Bush stays intellectually stuck and refers to it in the present tense.

I think he thinks everyone is as stupid as he is ;)

It seems even those with less than average comprehension are pretty far over his head.

I think, when he blabbered with his hand over his heart about "the Ownership Society," he actually meant he had a dream of "a Debtor's Society" and everything he's done for 7 years has worked to achieve his *actual* vision for America....

He ignores the Iran debt, while saying the economy is okay. The dollar will collapse after the final straw of another excuse. No one will want US play money anymore. But don't blame his runaway spending, blame the mortgage mess and credit crunch that he had much less of a hand in.

He will be on his way out to pasture in Crawford, TX while the Nation collapses under all sorts of stresses he induced with his reckless, feckless policies...

Tits you know I think it will be very rough time for the next president. We have SO many chickens coming home to roost as they say IMO.Bad for the majority economic policy's,bad foreign policy's,bad enviormental policy's.Of these the bad foreign policy might be the easiest to fix but I think the next president will really have a hard time with the other two and their effects.

I think I'm going to change my Freeones Username because of this post. We treat these issues as serious matters and my name (which was just a stupid joke at the time) seems limiting to me...

I agree with you. Bush is playing the Cowards in Congress like a fiddle with the sole intention of constructing "the perfect storm of calamities" for the next Pres to deal with. It seems like he is trying to keep his madness "afloat" for just a few more months, maybe til Summer, and then he can retire early to Crawford while the rest of us sit and sweat it out...

In my opinion, Foreign Policy needs to be addressed first with the quick withdrawal of troops from the Middle East. The Economy will get a *boost* from this...and that will lead the president to rescind the Bush Tax cuts (maybe cut a few truly horrible taxes like the Marriage and Death taxes)..finally, the Environment. We can wait a year before the new president does the right thing and joins "Kyoto" as well as make a decision which "Bio Fuel" does the nation latch on to...So, Enviroment should be last!

On your name don't change it.I like it and it does not diminish in any way what you say.Besides they do ROCK!:D
But I think we might disagree,I think the economy is a house of cards and its underpinings are a joke. Its only blind confidence that has and keeps it going.Look around we are not the economic power who makes the most best cars anymore or makes much else at all compared to the past.People manintained their buying power by borrowing against the increased value of their homes was our way of keeping the economy going.Thats is not going to happen anymore with the housing problems. And actually we won't have to sign Kyoto we have seeminly outwaited it.The 10 yr old Kyoto is about to be superceded by a newer agreement. No we have waited probably to long already and any reductions in greenhouse gases I really do not forsee,so like I said the next prez and us of course lol probably are fucked.

The Economy is much more complex then "The War on Terror" or National Security, for that matter. We have 3 main "Enemy" countries--South Korea, Iran, China--none of which is a threat to invade us or declare war on us. I am hesitant to say Iran is a no event even though if you listen to the Repub debates, McCain/Mitt/Rudy all but want to press the Launch button and send missiles to Iran...

A quick withdrawal of troops from Iraq/Afghan will give the economy a temp *boost* There are several things that can be done to "shore up" the US Economy but the next President needs to be methodical and confident in whatever actions he (she) takes. We do not need a President to come in and tinker with the Economy on Day 1.

In sum...the Economy is more complex and needs long-term repair. For short-term, withdraw troops and take "American Imperialism/Occupation" off the plate...It's a savings of $250bil a year!
