Bush says US economy is safe and sound

AFA

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
The Economy is much more complex then "The War on Terror" or National Security, for that matter. We have 3 main "Enemy" countries--South Korea, Iran, China--none of which is a threat to invade us or declare war on us. I am hesitant to say Iran is a no event even though if you listen to the Repub debates, McCain/Mitt/Rudy all but want to press the Launch button and send missiles to Iran...

A quick withdrawal of troops from Iraq/Afghan will give the economy a temp *boost* There are several things that can be done to "shore up" the US Economy but the next President needs to be methodical and confident in whatever actions he (she) takes. We do not need a President to come in and tinker with the Economy on Day 1.

In sum...the Economy is more complex and needs long-term repair. For short-term, withdraw troops and take "American Imperialism/Occupation" off the plate...It's a savings of $250bil a year!

Listen, I read what you said about Iraq, Afghanistan, China, S. Korea, and Iran and don't forget Venezuela but really have to ask? Wouldn't the world be a safer place without any people? :dunno:

No. The world is a safer place when we tend to our business and when other people figure out their own countries for themselves. It is a political lie that politicians impose on us when they say "it is our duty to oppose communism" when communist countries make things cheap for us. When we can break the belief/indoctrination of "we have a god-given right to be a super-power" crap..the world and the US will instantly become better...

I meant that in the spirit of Bush's continuously famous line, (I guess he thought it had real depth), "Isn't the world a safer place without Saddam Hussein", as though all this Iraq crap was justification of his total failure.

Wouldn't the world be safer without, cars, baseball bats, and fattening food?

Bush barely knows how the economy works never mind him stating things about it :S, the guy is a jack ass! he is the reason we're in such shit!

The Rules, of course I have read them!
Bush 1 & Bush 2 didn't help matters any, but the transition from Carter to Reagan ignited the most recent 'up-and-up' in the US National Debt. He's saying that because he has Governmental Entitlements himself...a US-DSS entourage for life, and a multitude of other tax-payer funded 'kick-backs'. Bah on those who think entitlements are good...as a whole. Some are worth-while...others are the biggest waste I've seen. I could go on...but I don't want to ramble. So certain items can be terminated indefinitely...others may have to be scaled back to pre-WW2 levels.

.Really? You're blaming 'w' for all things gone wrong across the pond too, eh? :1orglaugh
Look, I'm not defending 'w', but get real, he did earn a bachelors degree in the study of history from Yale and later, an MBA from Harvard, are you certain that he doesn't know how an economy works?

Wait a minute... you don't suppose that 'w' purchased his degree just like Said Khadaffi purchased a PhD from the LSE (London School of Economics), hmmm?

:dunno:

Have you ever researched his business history?

He did seem to learn a little something about insider trading, and how having a father that's the President of the United States can get a Bush-friendly SEC to back off in an instance where you or I would probably end up in jail.

He also owes a whole lot to certain Saudi Arabians for not having been a complete failure.

Ummm...yeah, lets see, a very wealthy person from a very politically elite family comes from Yale. He's seems like (and is)an idiot. I have a feeling as far as knowledge one has goes that degree isn't worth the paper it's written on considering all the circumstances it was acquired under. :1orglaugh

Yea, and in the process, Oh-mama jeopardized our relationship with the Pakis, one of our most forthcoming and most reliable strategic partners in our ongoing war on terrrr. :1orglaugh

This whole damn thing would read like a comedy if it wasn't so serious.
As you know, America has a l-o-n-g history of wiggling out of it's troubles over the years, OK, we've been spoiled, however this time... well, let's just say that our dear leaders are keeping things suspenseful for us.

Hey..heyyy...take that up with Trident1....

What would you have Obama do, not go after OBL where ever he was (Like a certain someone who also once proclaimed the economy was safe and sound just before the greatest economic calamity since TGD) and let the guy stay on the lamb?
