Can 2 + people have the same exact dreams / nightmares?

Marlo Manson

Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
I have been pondering the possibility of 2 or more people having the exact same dream, barring the theme of the dream came from a movie or something they both watched.

and for arguments sake. can 2 or more people dream telepathically? (Both dreaming each others dream @ the same time? whether they the dreamers are in the same room, building or not. so maybe they are miles apart or feet apart?

How many think this is possible? how many think its impossible, how many people think it unlikely but possible.etc..

And how many people have any thoughts or theories about this subject. I was gonna do a poll, but I figured it would get to confusing with all the explanations and other unscripted possibilities.:shocked:

Sorry if I was @ all confusing to any of you. but it is confusing and I often wonder why I dream about people that were like dinosaurs of my past. or having a dream with a different person than the original event took place with in the 1st place. (Allyssa and I experienced this, but in my dream Sasha and I experienced it this time) like mix and match dreams. does the other person have the same experience? just something that has always intrigued me and made me say hmmmm. cuz I :dunno: and certainly would like too know what the mass of people feel about the issue. :yesyes::rolleyes::confused:

I have a dream... that one day...
I will fuck Veronica Da Souza!

and I am sure that much more than 2 people have the same dream!

hmmm... I guess this is not exactly what you were talking about, but still :1orglaugh

I wouldnt think so, I would say two people can have similar dreams. Probably a dream in which the same things happen, but if we somehow filmed both, they would be completely different, they would be movitated and made with our own personality and experiences thrown in. Thats just how the unconcious mind works. But to have two dreams that are completely the same would be impossible I would have thought.

Another thing, most people only remember the bare minimum amount of information when they dream, so even if two people claimed they had the exact same dream you couldnt believe them because they probably arent even sure anyway.

Banned?
Once when I was at school, we had to write down a dream or nightmare we could remember and turn it into a short story, only a page or so. Me and this other kid had almost identicle stories, minus a few small differences which mainly came down to writing style. That was pretty strange.

A woman is an occasional pleasure but a cigar is always a smoke.
They can in a Stephen King book!

Dreams are a way of your subconsious mind to process memories. Since no one's memories are exactly the same (or probably processed the same way, although that could be possible, I'm not a psychologist or a brain surgeon) I'd say it's highly unlikely (I won't say impossible) for two people to have identical dreams.

I think that it's impossible to know if two people had the exact same dream. Let's say that you and I had a dream about driving a flying car. Sure, the topic would be the same, but maybe I'm picturing a flying green VW Bug, while you're thinking of a flying orange Lincoln Towncar. Also, maybe in my dream I'm flying through clouds over the water, and in your dream you're flying in clear skies over a field. I think that topics can be the same, but the exact specifics are nearly impossible to be the same.

Very interesting and insightful so far. cuz I have had dreams of people that I have only seen in a picture, or spoke to via email. or heard their music. or watched in a movie / television.

I am proud to say I have spent many days and nights with some of the hottest girls in the industry. and yeah we get it on. :pimpdaddy:D in some instances its even become a serious relationship. I am talking careers, kids, house, the whole 9 yards. :coolman::rolleyes::eek:

I have toured and hung out with some of the coolest entertainers and the most respected personalities outside of entertainment. :ban2:

I have been places and seen things that only mortals could relate too. well I think most of the time, I just remain :anonymous: cuz I remember allot of it, I think more than most people do. some dreams are so realistic it didn't even seem like I was a  so I often thought what if somebody from my past was in my dreams. could they be dreaming about me also? or could have just recently been dreaming about me? hmmm. I just.~ :dunno: for certain. :hatsoff:

Every single one of my dreams seem like this to me. It is an interesting question to consider but, people can't have the exact same dream. Many similarities is very possible, but I highly doubt there have ever been any people who have had the EXACT same dream down to the finest details.

I've had dreams of people I've never known or even seen before, and met them at some point later in my life. I've also had dreams of certain events taking place, and then they actually happen day or two or even longer. It's a strange thing, but I believe that's possibly what people commonly refer to as déjà vu?

I also like to write down every nightmare I have when I wake up, as detailed as I possibly can. Then I create short stories out of them later. Sometimes I piece together several nightmares for one story. Very interesting ideas come from dreams.

I mentioned to someone about two weeks ago that the place I was in right then, doing what I was doing, I had seen in a dream. I know beyond the shadow of a doubt I have been in places I dreamed of earlier.

This is why I am baffled when people tell me humans have no soul, there is no such thing as a spiritual reality, etc. I have seen my own body from outside myself. I was led back to it by other beings.

Anyway, here is a link this person referred me to. It is one of many:

If one just types in dreams, been here before, deja vu, that sort of thing, a few interesting articles pop up.

I should probably read the Board Rules...
From our current level of science and technology, I would guess that's it's pretty unlikely that two or more people would have the exact dream and we would not be able to verify it.

Second, I think it is more likely for two or more people to have a similar dream that may sound alike when these two or more individuals talk about it - Like if coworkers have a dream about some people at work getting layed off and the same people people get layed off in everyone's dreams.

I don't believe in telepathy, but I think that with the amount of people throughout the world, 2 people HAVE to have had the same dream at some point. What's that one saying...

"Somewhere in the world, there is at least 1 person doing the same thing you are"...???
