i don't understand this stuff.
A mystery to me.
even after reading about it.
why are most of the words they use illegible ?
what's the purpose of that because i can't read most of them?
I need to refresh it like 10 times until I can understand one.

Some Captchas are fucking ridiculous. I had one the other day that had a symbol in it that's not even on my keyboard. I had to go hunting for it in 'special characters'. Are spam bots really getting THAT intelligent?!

The whole reason for captures is to try and put a stop to mutherfucking spam robots that subscribe to boards, blogs and other networks for the pure purpose of spreading their spam and viruses. The more distorted the image, the more difficult it is for a bot to work out.
I recently came across this problem at a forum that I help administer, and found the increasing the distortion on the capture actually cut down the number of false/spam sign ups by over 90%, which makes administration a hell of a lot easier.

I know they suck to read, but I like them. If it is going to cut down spam etc in a website then I am all for it. Bots and stuff are getting much more sophisticated than they use to be, so inturn anti-spam has to do the same. It is not something that is going away any time soon.
