As a fella from California I'd say Reagan was a success but I wouldn't trust Arnold again even to be Kindergarten Cop.
As a voter some might have an unfair advantage because of celebrity popularity which many times is a substitute for common sense and experience. I'm not against them running because, in the end, the people decide and rise or fall by their decision.

Gopher from Love Boat served well in Congress for several terms. Sonny Bono was Mayor of Palm Springs and also served in Congress. Wrestler Jessie Ventura was a Mayor and Governor of Minnesota. Not very good though. Reagan wasn't that much of an actor but did serve as President of the Screen Actor's Guild and cleaned up. Comedian Al Franken has been serving well in the Senate.

Jesse Ventura is right to be cynical about politics. "Going whichever way the wind blows to save their political career" is right on the mark.
Assari, I'm not sure how familiar you are with Jesse Ventura. He was a great pro wrestler who played the role of a heel. He said that politics are just like pro wrestling. In wrestling, you grab the microphone then make the crowd believe your opponent is your enemy. But, out of view and back in the locker room, the "enemies" are drinking beer together having a good time laughing how everyone got worked.

I don't know what happen to Jesse Ventura. 
In the movie Predator he was a bad ass dude, but a couple years back I watched his conspiracy theory show and cringe at his tinfoil hat dramatization. And just recently I heard he won that defamation lawsuit that he did towards that deceased Marine. He had the resume that every boy can dream of having and still manage to make a fool of himself.

The Governator was an average Governor. He quickly learned that he couldn't get anything done without working with the State Reps and insulting them in the press didn't help any.
