I have no problem with any race or culture. However, I do have a problem with double standards and the hate preaching, which people from other ethnic backgrounds are allowed to spout. Any negativity in return can result in the race card being played. Rules are bent to accomodate different cultures. If only they could abide by the same protocols as everyone else, just like visitors to their own countries have done.

The do-gooders thought multi-culturalism would be harmonious, but its not working from what I have experienced.

Look, lots of people can't roll with change, especially rapid cultural change like we have going on now in America. Every wave of new immigrants has ultimately blended into a relatively homogeneous society and the same thing will happen with the Latino culture....it will blend into and become an integral part of the fabric of America. Will it change America? Absolutely. For some, that is problematic I guess. It isn't for me. It's what America is as far as I am concerned.

My advice is to go learn to speak some Spanish, celebrate Cinco de Mayo and live and let live. Most people, no matter their racial or ethnic background, are decent folk and are easy to get along with if you just make an effort. At least, that's been my experience.

Coming from both a white and hispanic culture, I can say that both are great. Going to the ballpark and eating hot dogs, Having a BBQ on a warm summer night and watching a college or pro football game. Celebrating the 4th of July by going out to the desert and popping some fireworks and who can forget thanksgiving.

Mexican culture is also great and some people are already in the mexican culture even though they refuse to see it, Soccer, Mexican food, dia de los muertos, Cinco de Mayo, Pinatas in birthday parties, etc.

It's not the fact that the US won't be "white" that concerns me... it's the impression that most of the latest wave of immigrants are not integrating and "getting with the program" for lack of a better phrase like previous waves did. It's about shared values (as much as I hate to use that played out word), you know, the things we all believed in that made America great. It just feels like we are losing that for many reasons these days.

It sure as hell bothers me and I'm not afraid or ashamed to say it either. In my generation, we have to worry about not having Social Security in another 10-20 years. When I have kids, and they get to be my age or older, they'll have to worry about being the national minority and that has me scared to death.

That being said, my family is as white as you get. There are no "non-whites" in my family. Whenever I have kids, if ANY of them bring home a "non-white" boyfriend or girlfriend, the only words I will ever say to them are: "You are dead to me."

And another thing that you don't realize because you weren't born and raised in the Hispanic culture, is that Hispanics will NEVER have a leader that dictates what all of them do. Hispanics hate other Hispanics way toooo much to ever get into an organized group and have one person speak for us all. For example, I hate 'cheros (the mexicans who wear the snake skin boots, fancy clothes and the cowboy hat), 'Cheros hate me, Hispanic El Pasoans hate people from Juarez who hate people from Tijuana who hate people from San Diego, Lower Valley Hispanics hate Far eastside Hispanics the list goes on and on.

I grew up hearing phrases like "That fucking Juareno in the car just cut us off, they're the worst drivers. I hate those cabrones, all they do is put their little pingos in our schools and take up space in our Walmart and eat in our restaurants when they have all of that stuff over there in fucking Juarez." and that was from my parents.

I can guarantee you that Hispanics in my area of town respect whites/blacks/asians more than most other Hispanics from Juarez or other parts of town. There really is no sense of camaraderie within the hispanic community just because we're the same ethnic group.
