Champion Nadal out of Wimbledon

Johan

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
If Murray or Federer win the tournament, they become ATP's N°1

Yep, no way that's gonna happen.

It's unfortunate for Nadal, but I don't think the tournament will suffer any lack of interest, cause right now there's so many exciting players on the men's tour. I hope Roger wins again to surpass Sampras, that's what I wanna see.

Federer might as well just be given the title now. Why waste so much effort if the only person with a chance of beating him is out?

I'll be watching anyway, just in case Murray does something.....

I'll be rooting for Murray or, hell, maybe Roddick even, although he's pretty much a longshot.

Maybe Soderling will continue his solid form? I think Tsonga and Verdasco might be able to put a solid run together....

Anyone but Federer. It would SUCK for him to get 2 "cheapy" Grand Slams with Nadal injured...

Cheap? WTF? Injuries are part of the game, of any game, so nothing's cheap there, and as far as I remember Nadal has been put out of the French open fair and square. Anyhow...oh WTF...I don't even care...:thefinger

Would you hit it?
Sucks. I always preferred Nadal over Federer, or better yet; Nadal vs Federer.

Nadal plays more enjoyable tennis, and is the better player IMO. And also the two are the by far best in tennis at the moment so now Wimbledon will be a free trophy for Federer. Nevertheless I'll keep my thumbs crossed for Söderling because he's from Sweden, but that doesn't change the fact that he plays brute tennis and is nowhere near his full potential (at least he wasn't in the French Open final.)
If Söderling was to make it in Wimbledon, he needs to beat Federer early on, and that's very unlikely.

I'm so great I'm jelous of myself.
Oh dear god no, I don't think I could stand a Brit in the final. The expectation, the disappointment, the questions in parliament

World number one Rafael Nadal will not defend his Wimbledon men's singles crown due to an ongoing knee injury.

The energy levels he has expended during the past three years.....it is no real surprise that his system fails.
The man has been an athletic machine - so I'm not surprised with this news.

It is a pity that he won't be there.
