That's the American church so I can not say anything.
In Finland the churches are maintained from puplic founds and the church staff raise funds for the poor which is a good thing.
They also make a lot of relif work and they are available for consultation at all times.
People who belong to church in Finland pay automatically taxes to them which is around ~1-2% depending from city, church and some other annual factors. Person who makes averagely let's say ~2000 € month and belongs to a church, will pay to them around 200-500 € in taxes every year just for being in church. This gives churches way more than huge loads of free income every year, which you do not see helping anyone and probably gets collected by some greedy rich person who lives fat in some paradise island laughing out loud...
