See that changes everything. He's a racist so his wife should be shot in the face and his son and his dog killed.

@ChrisFreemanX
I found his hypocrisy more interesting than his racism, he's been living off the government for years.

You can't treat people like the Bolsheviks did to the last Czar family.

If a racist, better torture would be chained to a chair forced to watch Brian Pumper porn scenes with white women for 48 hours.

There's another point to be made: What kind of doofus chooses Nevada to be a cattle rancher in? Was rice farming in Baja not available?

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
He's just another attention whore and radical wingnut with a loopy view of the Constitution (and the Bible, from what I understand).

He's a freeloader who's been getting away with stealing from the government for years. By the same token, shame on the federal enforcers who, until recently, have allowed him and his family to do this for over 60 years and didn't deem this worthy of pursuit. Now, it's priority one. Some sort of reasonable compromise should be negotiated if only cooler heads will prevail. Somehow, I don't see that happening. Hopefully, it won't end in a tragic debacle like Waco did.

I like your post. Balanced and reasonable. I also hope it doesn't end in tragedy. Too many political and media people using this for individual personal or professional currency. Harry Reid pretending to be a domestic terror warrior vs Sean Hannity's throwing gasoline on the fire.

Upon further review, this guy (Cliven Bundy) is a fucking idiot. But that still doesn't negate the BLM's equally stupid response in this matter. If not for the backing the Bundys' received, there may very well have been bloodshed ala Ruby Ridge or Waco. The feds couldn't have set up a P.O. Box where Bundy could've sent his fees to the "county"? After all, he's stupid right? He would've fallen for it.

I'm in agreement with you on this guy, ani. (One of) The dumbest thing(s) about this whole episode is the disproportionate response by the BLM and Law Enforcement. If you take into account the amount of money expended on manpower and equipment deployed, it's got to easily dwarf the amount owed.

One other thing irks me. That race hustler, Al Sharpton, owes somewhere between $1.9 to $2.5 million dollars in back taxes, but you don't hear about IRS agents or anyone else taking extreme measures to collect. It's not as if he's too hard to find.

Of course not. Al Sharpton can make far more incendiary statements, accuse innocent people of horrific crimes, not issue any kind of apology, then get a gig on MSNBC.

Cliven Bundy can be old and batty and the federal government can be totally out of bounds in their handling of this. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

This is in no way excusing what he says, but Cliven Bundy probably sounds like most of your grandpas. His views make a convenient target for the government. Just like Randy Weaver or that nut David Koresh.

The desert tortoise is alive and well. That being the case, why is that land even an issue? It's BF fuckin' E.

From what I understand it's not really the same. Sharpton hasn't just denied payment and organized an armed response. His issues come from one of his initiatives improperly filing for non-profit status, and his communications business going belly up. And he's on a repayment plan. So he actually is paying what he owes... just not all at once because he's a broke idiot who was trying to run several businesses while being incapable of running one.

Do most people agree that the media will go hog wild with the race card now? They know where their bread is buttered.

The media? Everyone goes bananas over any type of perceived discrimination, real or imagined and it certainly doesn't end at race. And as much as conservatives would like to paint it as "liberal" thing but there's certainly no shortage of persecution complexes on the far right.

It's universal. Everyone is a victim. Wait, no, sorry... it's always "you" who's the victim, and of course people like you. When it's the "other guy"... then they're just whiny and playing the [insert thing here] card.

True. Both sides have their cards of manipulation. I won't argue that. I still say the media will go hog wild with the race card in this particular situation.

Sharpton blames the Mob in his words. "They controlled the music industry and we had to pay tributes".
