Coma drug in nail varnish remover

CLUBBERS are getting high by using nail varnish remover that contains the banned rave drug GBL.
Among the chemicals in Quickies nail polish remover pads is gamma-butyrolactone, classified as a class C drug in 2009 after a series of deaths.

Clubbers have been squeezing the liquid from the pads into their drinks to get an instant hit.

A source said: "The effects of these Quickies are well known on the clubbing scene.

"They can make you feel a little bit frisky, a little bit happy." Makers Jeyes have now removed GBL from Quickies - but stocks of the old formula pads are still being sold in some shops.

Clubbers have been grumbling on internet forums about the new GBL-free Quickies, which cost around £1 for a pack of 20. One said: "Just bought some more Quickies today and they have now taken the GBL out of them. Arghhh!"

A man of 24 suffered kidney failure when he went into a coma after extracting the GBL from Quickies. A doctor at Royal Edinburgh Hospital reported the man became "acutely psychotic" a few hours after drinking the Quickies liquid.

Jeyes said yesterday: "After extensive research we have developed an alternative formulation that removes the potential for solvent abuse.

I used to do custom show car interiors - some of the glues we used would light you up - but most just resulted in a horrible headache later.

Aside- Ha! I remember a time when the guy across the street from me obtained for himself a 5 foot tall cylinder of Nºx.... anyway, as the story goes, he laid the cylinder, along with the attached hose/regulator assembly beside him on his bed... he woke up the next morning (or probably the afternoon knowing greg :1orglaugh) unclear about the sequence of events that led up to himself finding his 5 foot tall tank completely EMPTY! :
Yes, he ended up falling asleep with the valve open.

I'm going to show my age. Classwork ran on the mimeograph machine. When it was freshly printed & still wet a quick buzz. Starting in 6th grade I was one of the students who got to operate it. It was normally in a supply closet so you can imagine the buzz was from the fumes. :)

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
People get high on weird shit. We had a refridgerator leak at my old work and the maintenance guy said it reminded him of sniffing freon back in the day. I made a 8-0 face and he acted surprised when I said I never sniffed freon. Freon. Who sniffs that???
