An Irish politician proposes that those people who live in the remote area may drive car under the influence.

Reason; because they have a long way to go to the pub and the puplic transport does not work in the hinterland.

Reminds me of the Hamptons. A bunch of us drunk guys would rent a house for the summer for a few years after college. There was a free bus service there that would take our drunks selves from the bars right to our house. I believe the bars funded the buses. Probably saved more than a few lives (maybe one of those was mine).

...ahhhh the Hamptons. Good times.
