What's wrong with being pro-choice when it comes to guns? We all have the right to choose to either have one or not. If you want to have one, good, if you don't, good.
We have the right to defend ourselves otherwise you'll see shit like what's going on in Mexico nowadays where people don't have the right to have the firepower we can have over here.
I mean, this guy defended his ranch with hunting rifles, which in Mexico probably means some bolt action 30-06 rifles. If he had legally available the firepower that a typical Texas rancher has, he might have taken a lot more of those Zeta bastards with him, hell, if Mexican ranchers had the firepower and no surrender attitude that Texas ranchers have they might have joined him in kicking some Zeta ass.
And that is why, in their great wisdom, our Founding Fathers recognized that we the people have the right to have the means to defend ourselves in case our government is unable or unwilling to protect us. You know the old saying, there's never a cop around when you need one.
I'll put it in other words: there's two guys, guy A is just a regular guy who doesn't mess with anyone. He works, takes care of his family and helps out his friends in need. Guy B is a major bastard who steals, rapes and even kills. Both of them have a gun, Guy A for self defense, Guy B to threaten and kill those who aren't easily intimidated. Now they're in a Mexican standoff, and one of them is going to die, who would you all prefer to come out alive? Yes, for every Columbine, there's lots more self defense cases that the press overlooks, especially when most of those self defense cases involving a gun did not involve a shot being fired, usually with the assailant walking, or mostly running, away.
By the way, I already finally made the choice to have one and got myself a 9 mm Beretta. Not bad for a home defense gun, especially loaded with hollow point ammo. I've fired a few of those rounds just to be familiar with them but I usually practice with regular FMJ ammo.
