I don't think his comments were particularly tasteless but he should have thought them through just a little more carefully. It's funny and an accurate depiction of the feeling of most of our troops in the Middle East. If he weren't at risk of losing his job I doubt if he would have apologized. I know I wouldn't.

Since when has anyone thought David Feherty funny? Garry McCord on the other hand...funny.

If CBS followed pattern--than Feherty could be dropped from their team. CBS canned Ben Wright for sexist comments and suspended McCord from the Masters. They might get rid of him if Democrats or some golf fans start heckling him during their coverage. I, personally, find Feherty's comments insulting and just generally of the douchebag nature. If Feherty made anti-Dubya comments I'd make the same comments.

Pelosi was briefed on the waterboarding interrogations after Mr Sheikh had been done his 83 times, it's on record...she was just as in the loop on the enhanced interrogation as anyone in the top echelons of the govt. Yet she has been lying about what she knew and approved, to try and stay "untainted" by the hysteria from the left...her staff went to security briefings where specific details and progress were discussed...she then pretends to be the 3rd most powerful executive but ignorant of anything going on in her specific area of duties... yeah, if I was a military man and was asked about my feelings on Pelosi I'd find the joke pretty accurate...as a joke.

So lets imagine the Republicans are in power (how wonderful) and who ever is in her position now has something similar said against him/her by someone of a similar standing, probably with a slightly more "liberal" world view would the Republicans really not want an apology from this person as much as the Democrats have?

I find it hard to believe they wouldnt. Petulance and point scoring, thats all politics is, so the republicans would jump at the chance to "get one over" a liberal journalist because they could spin it any way they like. So it's kind of hard to pull off this high and mighty act towards the other party when it is pretty obvious, if the roles were reversed exactly the same thing would happen.
