Jus' been watching shootout Iwo Jima and a guy jumped on a satchel charge to save his comrades.
Given the times we live in, do you think modern soldiers would do that? Would you do that? Do you think what our countries fight for is worth your life? (This Q is aimed primarily at those FO members in the "1st" worlf because life is cheaper in the 3rd world (London)

Modern soldiers have done this. Mainly explosives thrown into a room and a soldier has covered it. As far as worth my life, my answer is different now than 4 oct. 84 (my induction date). My moral compass now would be more toward human rights violations (i.e. Congo, Sudan, etc). But bear in mind that when you are in you can't pick & choose which battle/war you will fight for.When you are ordered to go fight, you train, pack your gear & go.:2 cents:

why doesnt somebody just grab the nade, satchel, whatever and just throw it back? i do it all the time in video games....

I don't know If I would jump on a grenade to save my comrades.:dunno:

If the war is defensive, to protect families and territorial integrity, then is worth giving my life.
