Police seem to be getting more and more violent each day. At least they paid the man. It wasn't wrongdoing though. :dunno:

How can a police officer, who should be trained to assess a situation like this accurately, not gather, that the man he was just talking to is deaf?
That's beyond me...
If this isn't a prime example for what's wrong with a lot of the police work in the US nowadays, than I don't know what is. I mean look at this man. Anyone with the basic understanding of human behavior or body language a cop should have can tell, that this man is probably not even a threat to a fly on the wall.
I don't get it... "it looked like he was going for a gun" ....yeah right... that's probably why the officer cuffed him immediately and looked for a gun... or not...

my main problem is if i broke someone's nose during a misundertanding i definitely would get more than a 2 day suspension from work...more like a 2 year term in prison for assualt

No. Deaf people have less car accidents than hearing people does. We hear with our eyes, we catch and React more quicker than hearing people while driving.

In my state there is a specific requirement for hearing in order to get a drivers license. Here, the poor man would not have won a settlement, in fact he would have received a hefty fine for driving without a license.

Huh?..... does it say anything about him not driving with out a license?. The question was, does deaf people pay higher car insurance and the answer is no....

There's nothing wrong with that because many euro and asian country doesn't allow deaf people to drive....Why?. IDK And i think it's wrong, just because we can't hear people blowing their horn, doesn't mean we can not learn how to drive. We're deaf not blind. It's sad how some people still uses the term Deaf and dumb.

Re: Deaf Guy Gets His Nose Broken During Traffic Stop While Trying to Explain He's De

I think blind people should be allowed to drive, as long as they can pass the driving test. Maybe they would have to have a sighted passenger to help them, but that's OK. Or maybe an electronic system that tells them what is happening. I'm totally serious.
