Saw this on Yahoo this morning. Great story, but sad.

Yeah what really was disturbing was that recording of his exchange with ground control as he was crashing to Earth and his death!

This event had been covered up for years during the days of the old Soviet Union. Not the only cosmonaut to die in space or during reentry. Rumors have abounded for years about a female cosmonaut who also burned alive during reentry in 1961.

wow gagarin was really the 3rd man in space? and the others don't get honored and are unknown. what a shame. the first man in space should be a huge celebrity and in all the history books. they died in vain
