Dept of Justice Says States Can Legalize Pot! Police Groups are PISSED!

Rey C.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
I always thought it was DuPont and William Randolph Hearst that single-handedly made it illegal, because hemp is a much better material. It came down to those two companies standing to lose a LOT of money if it stayed legal.

That's what I have read too. Reefer Madness was a propaganda film backed by those who had the most to gain by vilifying marijuana and making (stupid) people believe that hemp was the same thing as marijuana.

spoken like someone who truly has zero idea of what they are talking about

keep watching fox news georges because that can be the only place you are hearing such horse shit

I don't watch fox news and never watch them, sorry to disappoint you. We will see over the long run the so called "good consequences" of the legalization of weed.

in the late 1800's they used to say that weed made the negros crazy and that it made them rape white women (true story) they said the same about cocaine to get the white folks to go against it. all they had to do back then was say that the blacks loved something and made them horny or wild and it got banned instantly.

georges when alcohol was illegal during prohibition who made it and distributed it then? organized crime. when it became legal again what happened? it was taken away from organized crime. you cannot argue that georges. that is factual history. during prohibition there were murders and kidnappings and extortion on a daily basis over alcohol and who made it and sold it and bought it. that all stopped the instant it became legal again.

FACT! not questionable. FACT!

Drive-by shootings by out-of-control weed cartels? That's just ridiculous beyond belief.

There actually is a huge amount of money made by Mexican cartels supplying marijuana into the U.S. And there is violence associated with those cartels as they struggle for power in various U.S. cities - Atlanta and Charlotte are seeing it now.

Your misconstrue the context of my statement, Rey. It was made pertaining to Georges' prior assertion that, should marijuana be legalized, "cartels and gangs will get again power for marijuana supplying, you will get sooner or later blood bathes due to drive by shootings". Obviously, history of prior prohibitions (alcohol in particular) would tell us that quite the opposite is true. Legalization, regulation and taxation of the largest cash crop in the state of California makes so much sense from so many angles it boggles the mind. Criminals tend to not be involved in something unless it is against the law. Pretty simple stuff really.

Of course, out government will choose the opposite tact by continuing to waste billions of dollars in a futile and pointless effort to keep marijuana and other drugs out of America. Won't work and can't work but it it sounds like tough talk on the election trail so politicians will blindly and stupidly continue to vote to keep the so-called "war on drugs" alive.

it is tough to find a weed dealer in LA these days. Why would anyone not get the best stuff on the market legally? the illegal weed dealer is becoming extinct.

What do you say if a person who has used marijuana run over you with car?

It does not matter because the weed is not a drug? (wtf)

alcohol is a drug. 1 million people a year die from alcohol. nearly 100,000 of them from health related issues due to addiction that is NOT related to driving drunk.

you cannot even try and compare the health aspects of alcohol and weed and be taken seriously by anyone with even a 15 minute eduction on both

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
Of fucking course they're pissed, they're losing one of the cash-cows.

This is pretty much the reason or at least the only logical one I can think off with perhaps the exception that they are just so used to spouting the mindless rhetoric about all drugs being bad no matter what after all these years no matter how senseless that line of thinking is in some situations.

Otherwise this might be the first time that law enforcement agencies have actually complained about having to do less work.

no one is saying it's completely harmless. But it is FAR less harmful than alcohol. It cannot kill you. there is no lethal dose. if you legalize alcohol there is no valid argument for not having weed be legal and regulated and taxed.

Ah, sorry about that. Yes, I see now. I should have read back farther.

What do you say if a person who has used marijuana run over you with car?

Well, since I'd be dead... probably nothing. I'd like to think that one if my relatives would seek revenge. But they'd be so busy looking for my will and pilfering through my sock drawer looking for loose change, they wouldn't care.

Hopefully someone would play an old Cheech & Chong 8-track at my funeral though - ya know, just for the irony.

I do not see American TV ads.

The topic of discussion is marijuana and as that link said it affects different people in different ways and therefore it is good to mention it, I think.

Pharmacy drug side effects is a topic that deserves its own thread.

If you're unlucky you can stay alive. *sarcasm*

One of the side effects of marijuana are problems with coordination.

That's why I would not want that marijuana should be legal in Finland.

A lots of users = lots of car accidents
