Stupid. The revenue brought to these cities by being in the Stanley Cup finals far exceeds whatever costs are involved in hosting the events.

Hockey playoffs, yeah. Good times. I think the Nielsen ratings were like 7 or 8 this year. What's that? That was the total number of people that tuned in? Oh, sorry. My mistake.

But seriously, the only sport more irrelevant than hockey is soccer (at least in the States).

what about a lacrosse? yeah, there are more obscure games, but that's probably the gayest one to call itself a sport, as opposed to a game. It's a notch below croquet, cuz at least you hit the ball with a hammer in that game instead of trying to catch it in some pussy ass net like a little kid.

I wouldn't say lacrosse is gay. There are some terrific hits. Plus, Oz and Stiffler played for their high school team in American Pie. But don't steer off topic. We're marveling at the wonderful irony of the onion.
